Army Colonel Harold Cabunoc took to social media to express his sentiment on the statement of Bayan Muna Rep. Eufemia Cullamat calling her “NPA cadre” daughter heroine of the Lumads and the nation.
In case you missed it, Jevilyn Cullamat was the lone casualty on the NPA side during a 45-minute gun battle with Special Forces soldiers in Marihatag Surigao del Sur.
In a Facebook post with the title, “BAYANI RAW NG BANSANG PILIPINAS ANG AMASONANG TERORISTA” Col. Cabunoc told Rep. Cullamat the position of the AFP with regards to her declaration and that her slain daughter was a heroine.
“Hala, DISAGREE talaga kami dyan Congresswoman Cullamat!”
Col. Cabunoc said with confidence that a quick survey of the families of Cullamat’s fellow Lumads in Lianga, especially those relatives of anti-NPA datus like Datu Jumar Bocales, will bear him out.
Col. Cabunoc was apologetic to Cullamat but he can’t accept personally that a lawmaker would declare the NPA a hero when they are the perpetrator of violence in the country.
Col. Cabunoc wants to know what law will Rep. Cullamat passed if she calls terrorists who perform various criminal activities!
Col. Cabunoc apologized once more because he can’t just make a connection that a lawmaker would declare a lawbreaker a hero or heroine.
“Sorry, again. Lawmaker na nagdedeklarang hero ang lawbreaker. Di ko talaga makonek!”
Col. Cabunoc shared an excerpt from the GMA News article to give his readers an idea where he based his opinion.
Rep. Cullamat said she was not surprised that her daughter joined the NPA, the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines, after she experienced the alleged abuses of government forces.
She said her daughter is a hero of the Lumad and the entire nation. The lawmaker also insisted that her daughter is not a war trophy.
Cullamat said. —KBK, GMA News
