ANC Headstart host Karen Davila has been the object of harsh jokes from netizens after her disastrous interview with Malacanang Spox Sal Panelo went viral on social media.
If the humiliation she received after the Panelo interview on social media wasn’t enough, the ANC Headstart host once again took to Twitter blaming President Duterte for influencing members of Congress because he did not give the cue to the Congressman to act on the ABS-CBN franchise bill.
In other words, Davila refuse to accept the explanation of Malacanang Spokesman Sal Panelo that President Duterte isn’t lifting finger regarding the ABS-CBN franchise bill because he respect the principle of the separation of powers.
Davila’s tweet riled up the Duterte supporters, including Facebook blogger Noel Sarifa, a staunch Duterte supporter, who wasted no time and took to Facebook to give the TV host a good tongue lashing.
Sarifa admonished Davila for wasting her time to interview someone (Panelo) and yet she refused to accept the story of her guest. According to Sarifa, Davila isn’t a judge or an investigator to say which is the truth. As a mediaman, her job is to present both sides of the story: “Naginterview ka pa kung hindi mo rin naman tatanggapin ang salaysay ng ininterview mo. Hindi ka naman imbestigador or judge to say which is which, the media is to present the side of the story of both party, but it seems you are to bias to accept the side of the state.
Sarifa told Davila that if she cannot believe there is such a thing as separation of powers among the Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches in government, she did not bother to interview in the first place.
An indignant Sarifa asked Davila why her mind is twisted? Wasn’t this ABS-CBN franchise brouhaha enough proof the President isn’t the dictator they accused him of? Besides, Sarifa said Congress have their own priorities and they tackle the bill which they think can help uplift the lives of the people not Davila’s TV network. “Bakit ba baluktot pag-iisip mo?
Sarifa explained, Congress will still do their jobs, including the franchise renewal but they deemed this not urgent. Sarifa said it is Davila who is inciting the President to interfere with Congress, but the President isn’t budging. Sarifa said even House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano has already announced that holding a hearing of the network’s franchise isn’t urgent. If President said this is urgent, that is encroaching the powers of Congress. House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano said holding hearings into the network’s franchise is “not that urgent” so speaker may sabi nun. Pagginawang urgent yan ng pangulo e di pakikialam yun, di ba?”
Sarifa reprimanded Davila for insisting on what is wrong. “Gusto nyong pagsisikan ang mali!”
Sarifa said he thought that Davila is only slow to comprehend during interview, turned out she also has poor comprehension.
