Social media is a cruel medium. In many cases, social media will give you your 15-minutes of fame but sometimes, the attention is not what you hoped for.
The video below illustrates the point.
A motorist who refused to be identified uploaded his video on Dash Cam Diaries Philippines involving a traffic altercation with a motorcycle rider along Daang Hari in front of Ayala Southvale.
The motorcycle rider turned out to be a uniformed policeman.
Read the caption provided in the video to hear the side of the motorist below.
“I’m sending you 2 videos of what happened to us this morning along Daang Hari. A motorcycle rider was going very slow on the fast lane (inner lane) of the road and I honked my horn to let him know that I was behind him and he was causing a slowdown on the fast lane. The video shows what happened when we were at the stoplight along Daang Hari in front of Ayala Southvale…”
Apparently, the motorist wanted to embarrass the policeman but instead of earning the sympathy from the netizens, rather he got a different reaction from the netizens.
🙂 yung tipong just for the sake na may maibaba ka na kapwa mo gagawin mo to. jusko! arogante mo!” John Vincent Galiya wrote.
“Nadaanan ko to kanina, I think dapat nagbigayan na Lang. The SUV owner definitely has an attitude as well, “Ano problema mo?!” Wow! Kung kayo un pulis ano mararamdaman mo? Kung Bastos yan di sya I aadress ng Sir at mag sabi ng Opo… well I’m just citing my opinion…” Maique Mac agreed with John.
“Well, tama si Cop. Sya nasa unahan kaya hindi mo sya pwedeng madaliin. And I’ll take his word na you cut his lane. Yun paghawak nya sa baril SOP yun kasi tinted yan sasakyan mo at hindi nya kita nasa loob. Nung nakita nya hindi ka armed at threat he took off his hand from the gun. Think again poster, ikaw yun aggressive and arrogant and nang harass.
Binabaliktad ng nagvideo ang storya, sa mga nagcocomment na hindi naman alam ang totoong storya, sana alamin nyo muna bago kayo magkomento,” Von Von said it was raining in Bacoor on that day so the policeman was driving cautiously.
Did the policeman act accordingly or too much?“I’m sending you 2 videos of what happened to us this morning along Daang Hari. A motorcycle rider was going very slow on the fast lane (inner lane) of the road and I honked my horn to let him know that I was behind him and he was causing a slowdown on the fast lane. The video shows what happened when we were at the stoplight along Daang Hari in front of Ayala Southvale…”

Moral lesson: Be respectful to fellow motorist in the road… and, don’t share your video to embarrass others, unless you are sure, the opinion in social media is favorable to you.
