Lawyer Leni Robredo has been lectured on the finer points of the PH Constitution by a fellow lady lawyer for accusing SolGen Calida of working for BBM and replace her as the Vice President.
As per Rappler article, the VP hinted that she was charged with inciting to sedition so that former Senator BongBong Marcos can take her seat.
Lawyer Trixie Cruz-Angeles couldn’t help but jeer at Robredo and Rappler for their lack of knowledge of the PH Constitution.
Angeles explained that Robredo’s fear is misplaced. If for example, she is convicted as charged (inciting to sedition), she will not be removed from office but she will only change her residence from QC to Bilibid. Unless, an impeachment case is filed and succeeds.
In the event Robredo is impeached, Marcos will not replace her because according to PH rules of succession, the President may appoint someone from the Senate or Congress to take her VP position.
Bongbong Marcos will only take the VP position if the PET decides the protest case he filed vs Robredo in his favor.
