On Facebook, international relations expert Sass Rogando Sasot discovered a declassified document from the CIA that could potentially change the way Filipinos looked at Cory Aquino.
According to the CIA declassified document, Cory Aquino considered withdrawing from the disputed islands when China and Vietnam fought a short-lived battle in the disputed South China Sea.
But luckily for the Philippines, Cory was prevailed over by her advisers not because of patriotic duty but the possibility of discovering oil deposits in the islands.
In light of this explosive and damaging information versus Cory Aquino, Sasot asked Leni Robredo and her Liberal party mates to comment on this matter.
“Now, which is worse, Duterte’s joint exploration with China OR Cory’s intention to withdraw from the Spratlys? Pick your choice Liberal Party,” Sasot wrote.
Sasot ended the short FB post by leaving a thought provoking question to the reading public.
“Nakakapagtaka bakit hindi nagpapasalamat ang dilaw kay Macoy?”
Sasot asked this question because she credited Marcos as the president responsible for staking our claim in the Spratlys.
This excerpt is from a declassified CIA document on the China vs Vietnam naval clash in the Spratlys in the late 80s.
“Philippine President Aquino considered withdrawing from the disputed islands, but her advisers convinced her not to remove the Philippine garrisons because of the possibility of discovering oil deposits in the islands.”
Care to comment Leni Gerona Robredo ?
Now, which is worse, Duterte’s joint exploration with China OR Cory’s intention to withdraw from the Spratlys? Pick your choice Liberal Party.
Take note: Cory was advised not to withdraw because that’s our territory but because of OIL.
Nakakapagtaka bakit hindi nagpapasalamat ang dilaw kay Macoy? Marcos was the president responsible for our country’s participation in the South China Sea conflict and in the scramble for the Spratly Islands.
