“Don’t Put The Burden On One Man’s Shoulder” — Netizen’s emotional appeal to Duterte critics

“Don’t put the burden on one man’s shoulder.”

This is essentially the message of the Facebook post of blogger Noel Landero Sarifa amid the latest black propaganda versus President Duterte circulating online from the camp of the Liberal Party.

Sarifa called the Liberal party “heartless people” for using any circumstance to amplify their messaging, their insensitivity to the victims and the people’s suffering is beyond evil.

Sarifa lamented how low these people can get like blaming President Duterte for the natural calamities? They will look for President Duterte, blame and engage in fault-finding but do they really care, can you see them really helping asked Sarifa?

“I have noticed that every time there is a calamity or national issue, and the netizens are mostly online to get updates, the Yellow Party unleashed their online army. Spreading black propaganda against the president. These heartless people will use any circumstance to amplify their messaging, their insensitivity to the victims and the people suffering is beyond evil. Even blame the president for Natural calamities. They will look for the president, blame the president, look for loopholes a systematic cycle, but do they really care? Can you see them anywhere helping?”

Sarifa went on to praise President Duterte as the only President who leads, conduct briefing and assessment right after every after disasters not in the Palace but at ground zero. In addition, Sarifa said that President Duterte is the only President who insist to visit the area without regard for his personal safety.

“Who among our president leads, conduct briefing and assessment right every after disasters or calamities not on the Palace but into the affected areas? Who among the President who is very hands-on in dealing with the issues from north to south of the country? Who among the Presidents who insist to visit the areas even if it is still unsafe? In my lifetime? It is only President Duterte.”

Sarifa reminded the critics that this is not the time put the burden on one man’s. This is a natural phenomenon and the least we can do is to be sensitive to the sufferings of our Filipino brothers and sisters.

“This is not the time for us to put the burden on one man’s shoulder. These are our brothers and sisters battered by nature’s wrath, no one wanted and nobody causes this. This is how nature works. Everyone should take part in it. Not because you pay your taxes you wanted your taxes to work for you, or you are entitled to criticize using a false ideology. Your taxes are your responsibility to the state but as a Filipino, you still have a responsibility to your countrymen.”

Sarifa recalled at the time when Filipinos were accustomed to foreign aid but we were clueless where it ended up? Some of them ended up buried underground, buried in the pockets of the crooks, rot in warehouses while only a small portion went to the victims of natural calamities. Sarifa said this is not the case now. Our taxes are being used properly, we have enough relief goods and distributed right ahead without the faces of politicians plastered on the googs.

“Before we are too accustomed to foreign aid pero saan napupunta ang mga donation? Binabaon sa lupa, binabaon sa bulsa, nabubulok sa bodega, katiting lang nakakarating sa biktima kasi mas inuna nilang pakinabangan kaysa itulong, kinakakamkam ng mga NGO. Now our taxes are being used properly, we have enough relief goods, na dati laging sinasabing kulang, kaya walang humpay ang panglilimos sa iba’t ibang bansa. Relief goods were distributed right ahead without the faces of politicians embedded on the goods.”

Sarifa couldn’t help but ask why critics condemn the President and blame his arrogance for foreign assistance or relief goods to stop coming to the country? Sarifa said we should instead appreciate the President because his action lead us to be independent, to use our resources wisely, stop foreign aid and stop allegation of corruption that comes with it.

“Why condemn the president and tell his arrogance, lead to the absence of foreign assistance? His actions lead us to be independent, to use our resources properly, to stop foreign aid and not to use it for corruption.”

Sarifa enlightened critics the stark difference between the past administrations and the incumbent. For example, the Duterte admin is quick to act and responds to natural disasters doing rescue operations and road clearing, even when the typhoon is still wreaking havoc. Today, the bayanihan spirit of the Filipinos is very much alive, a gesture inspired by the President. Sarifa said these are the things we need to see and appreciate not condemn for our personal gain.

“Today our government is always in action and quickly responds, before it took them days to do rescue operations and clearing the roads, today even during the onslaught the government is working. Our fellow Filipino, good samaritans from every part of the country are extending their hands to help our countrymen. A gesture inspired by the President. These are things we need to see and appreciate, not condemn and use for personal gain.”

Sarifa ended the FB post urging the public not to vote for politicians who condemn the President, whoever the LP endorsed in the next election.

“Remember those people who condemn the President, whoever they endorse for the next election is someone who does not deserve our votes.”
