Floundering Roxas caught in a new scandal; supporters admit getting 5K to attend Pilipinas Debates

A video of an alleged Roxas supporters admitting to a snoop of getting 5K pesos to attend the Pilipinas Debates 3 has been doing the rounds online.

Roxas supporter admits receiving 5K pesos

Allegedly receives 5K from Roxas camp

In a Facebook post shared more than 2,000 times and still counting as of Tuesday afternoon, a netizen identified as Alex Ongoco published the video wherein the two women supporters of Mar Roxas made the admission that they received 5,000 pesos allegedly from the Mar Roxas camp.

In fairness to Mar Roxas, the woman supporter did not say that the LP bet personally handed them the money as payment for whatever services rendered to the presidential bid of the administration party, Liberal Party.

After doing a quick reading of the comments of the netizens, it was learned that the video was taken during the recently concluded ABS-CBN sponsored Pilipinas Debates held in Pangasinan.

In the video, a male voice can be heard initiating a conversation of the women wearing the signature color of the Liberal party.

The short conversation opened with the male voice asking in Tagalog: “Magkano po?” the guy asked. The woman who was all smiles gamely responded, “5 thousand!”

The woman even repeated her answer, making sure she was heard correctly by the netizen, “5 thousand sabihin mo kay Roxas!”

The less than 30-second video ended shortly thereafter while the two women danced to the festive music playing in the background and shouted Roxas, Roxas!

Netizens who watched the video lambast Mar Roxas in response to the alleged election law violation.

DarLene Vergara Timbang wrote with sarcasm.

Maka-Roxas na nga rin (Let us join the Roxas bandwagon.)

Bayad pala eh (So you’re paid!)

Let us revisit the Omnibus Election Code relative to this matter:

According to Sec. 104 OEC Prohibited donations or gifts by candidates, treasurers of parties of their agent and spouse and relatives within the second civil degree of consanguinity and affinity.

In the meantime, the Comelec has not seen the video yet I supposed, so we have to wait what is their take on this.
