Foreign-funded survey shows Duterte leading the Presidential race

It seems like the Pulse Asia survey result that showed Duterte in the lead in NCR recently is no fluke. Well, if the post by a well-known Philstar columnist is to be believed, the Duterte phenomenon is for real.

Duterte tops for more new surveys

Actually, Pedrosa wrote in her Philstar column that the four surveys with 12,000 respondents were conducted recently and showed Mayor Duterte in the lead.

The first one was commissioned by an unidentified foreign entity while the second survey appears to be funded locally. The second survey was conducted in the social media to know the pulse of the netizens.

The Digong phenomenon reminds Pedrosa of FVR when the latter ran for the Presidency in 1992. According to the columnist, Bayan Ko adviser Jose Alejandrino conducted a similar survey prior to the 1992 election that showed FVR leading the survey and as won as we knew it.

According to the memoir of Jose Alejandrino, he had predicted that FVR would win in a seven-way Presidential race but garner not more than 25 percent of the votes. The election result would show that FVR garnered 23.58 percent of the votes. In his memoir, Alejandrino also predicted which provinces would carry FVR to Malacanang except the Cavite province which the latter won.

Here’s the interesting part: all four surveys which Duterte topped were conducted in the periond between Oct. 21 and Nov. 14, a week before Duterte announced his intention to gun for the Presidency in Cavite.

The Presidential survey showed Duterte leading the Presidential race, followed by Grace Poe, then VP Binay, Mar Roxas and Miriam Defensor Santiago in this order.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Presidential race shows Bongbong Marcos leading the VP aspirants, followed by Leni Robredo, Chiz Escudero, Gregorio Honasan and finally, Alan Peter Cayetano.

If this proved to be true, then Duterte should expect more and more dirty propagandas directed towards his camp from his political rivals.
