Gen. Bato dela Rosa epic performance versus OtsoDiretso bets @ UST debate turns Sen. Ping Lacson, Director Manny Castaneda into believers

Former PNP Chief Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s senate candidacy has been questioned by many people including movie director Manny Castaneda.

However, the viral video of the former PNP General showing him trashed the OtsoDiretso bets during a CNN Philippines hosted debate at UST may have changed all that perception. You may watch the videos here.

The renowned movie director has taken to Facebook to announce his change of heart towards former PNP Chief’s senate candidacy.

In fact, Castaneda heaped praises on the former PNP Chief’s debate performance, saying he was unsure of the retired Generals senate candidacy in the beginning but after watching his scintillating performance at the UST debate, Bato has won his admiration and vote as well.

So what gives?

Castaneda wrote on Facebook that “Bato was sincere and spoke not only from experience but also from the heart. No attempt at intellectual discourse, no pretentiousness, but stood as himself – a human being.”

So there you go folks!

At first I was unsure of Bato for the Senate but after his performance at the CNN debate, he has won my admiration and my vote as well.

Unlike many candidates who obviously performed to impress, Bato was sincere and spoke not only from experience but also from the heart. No attempt at intellectual discourse, no pretentiousness, but stood as himself – a human being.

I just hope that when he does make it to the senate, if he is able to maintain his present disposition and not morph into a despicable political monster like many of those who eventually had become a traditional politician.

Meanwhile, incumbent Senator Ping Lacson, who admitted on Twitter that he questioned how former PNP Chief General Bato dela Rosa’s high ranking in the social weather surveys.

However, in the same tweet, Lacson remarked that while dela Rosa single-handedly took on the OtsoDiretso bets and gamely, made him stop wondering why the former PNP Chief consistently rank high in the surveys.

Watching Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa single handedly and gamely taking on Otso Diretso (minus 2) candidates on a number of issues makes me stop wondering why he consistently ranks high in the senatorial surveys.
