Hmmm…If Buhay Partylist Cong. Lito Atienza can have his way, he wants his fellow Congressmen to wrap up the congressional hearing on ABS-CBN’s franchise and give it a new one pronto.
Rep. Atienza’s eager-beaver attitude to give ABS-CBN did not escape the watchful eyes of retired ABS-CBN broadcaster Jay Sonza who took to Facebook to explain to netizens why Kim Atienza’s father is in a rush.
In a Facebook post, Sonza wrote in a poker-faced tone, “Seriously, I can understand why Mr. Lito Atienza of Buhay Partylist is in hurry.”
Sonza remarked that at the rate the Congressional committee is moving forward with its probe on ABS-CBN, it seems to him that the Kapamilya network have committed serious violations of PH laws.
“At the rate the House Blue Ribbon Committee is proceeding with its probe on abs-cbn, it would appear that they have violated and continue to violate the Constitution, and every conceivable laws we have, including their very own franchises.”
Sonza figured that if the probe on ABS-CBN continues, it will not just put ABS-CBN franchise application in jeopardy but it could mean criminal and civil suits against the owners and officials of ABS-CBN.
“Kasi nga naman kapag nagtuloy-tuloy ang pagdinig lalo lang manganganib na hindi lamang sa hindi mabibigyan ng prangkisa and abs cbn, kundi patong-patong na kasong Criminal and Civil ang kakaharapin ng mga may-ari at opisyal ng abs cbn.”
Sonza sounded perplexed why Congressman Atienza appeared like he was such in a rush when the Kapamilya people are even taking their sweet time to produce the documents requested by Congress?
“Pero Cong Lito, problema ng mga Lopez po iyon. Bakit kayo ang nagkukumahog at nagmamadali, samantalang iyong mga Kapamilya people ay papetik-petik nga sa pagdadala at labas ng kanilang mga dokumento?”
“May lakad ka ba sir?” Sonza asked in jest.
Sonza offered Cong. Atienza a friendly advice, “Bakasyon ka muna, kasi po mukhang aabutin pa ng 2 years bago matapos iyan.”
Sonza went on to break the bad news to Cong. Atienza, hence he needs to take his advice seriously.
“1,024 pa po kaming mga dating empleyado ang tetestigo diyan sa Kongreso. 576 pa iyong cable operators na isasalang. dagdag pa ang pagbusisi sa 133 family related and 70 subsidiary companies and the Big Dipper tax avoidance issue.”
