Lawyer on Bam Aquino after the senator criticized unabated corruption in BoC

These are the fighting words of lawyer Bruce Rivera to start his open letter addressed to Sen. Bam Aquino recently.

Senator Bam Aquino infuriated Rivera after the senator was quoted by the local media mocking at Duterte’s election promise of bringing change that remains unfulfilled.

He cited the unabated corruption in the BoC to back up his statement.

Below are the exact words of Sen. Bam Aquino as shown in TV5’s meme.

In the open letter, Rivera explained that Aquino cannot expect corruption to stop in the BoC when only the BOC officials were replaced.

On Aquino asking where is change?

Rivera responded that the BoC is more transparent now than the previous administrations. Anomalies within the agency are quickly exposed to the public.

Rivera asked Senator Aquino if this would come to public’s attention had this happened during PNoy’s administration?

Rivera cited Faeldon’s case wherein Duterte axed the BOC Commissioner in the aftermath of the shabu smuggling scandal.

An annoyed Rivera reminded the senator that during PNoy’s administration, illegal drug trade flourished. Not under Duterte’s watch, Rivera said.

Rivera told Bam that during Pnoy’s admin, there were no news just like the P1B shabu smuggling scandal in BoC.

Rivera alleged that either the Pnoy administration turned a blind eye and let it through or failed to intercept it. If the illegal drug smugglers outsmarted the police, the PNoy administration did not report it to the public.

Before wrapping up his post, Rivera enlightened Bam why Duterte’s approval rating remains high despite criticism from the senator.

“The people feels safe. The people who don’t feel safe in the Duterte administration are the drug addicts and the pushers,” Rivera remarked.

Seventy-nine percent are law-abiding citizens, unafraid to go out because there are no more addicts who will harass them.

Seven percent are oppose to Duterte’s leadership and that includes the senator, Rivera bluntly told Bam Aquino.

It’s Bam and his pals who have the audacity to ask: “Where is the promise of change?”

Sadly, he and his pals are role-playing as the victims by refusing to see the change that the majority are enjoying.

In sarcastic tone, Rivera said he understood why Bam Aquino can’t feel the change under the Duterte administration.

Bam has been spared from the lustful stares of drug-crazed residents in poor enclaves in the Philippines because he is not the kind who makes tambay (hangout) in Tondo or in Pasil (Cebu’s version of Tondo). Rich addicts hide inside their palatial homes.

Besides, Bam lives in an exclusive subdivision guarded by roving security guards 24/7 or in a condo unit with security guards.

Bam has never been a victim of double cross in the illegal drug trade or cheated by drug pushers.
In short, Rivera is telling Bam Aquino he is not qualified to make a comparison since

Rivera ended the post by leaving this thought-provoking lines to Bam Aquino: “Disente ka pa rin. Tuwid pa din ang daan mo. Dilawan ka pa din.

Oo, walang nagbago.”

In short, Rivera thinks Bam Aquino he is unworthy to judge Duterte because Bam Aquino is forever a dilawan no matter what.

DEAR BAM,

Let me dissect:

At naiintindihan kita.

Oo, walang nagbago.
