Locals walked for 3 hours to get relief goods but got nothing until Pnoy arrives; anger netizens

In a report filed by Cedric Castillo of GMA News, the relief goods for the typhoon victims started coming in to Casiguran Aurora yesterday October 20, 2015. In fact, DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman and other government officials faced the reporters to brief them about the updates of the relief goods.

At first glance, it seems that the Pnoy government has learned its lessons from the previous typhoons and other man-made calamities like the Yolanda Super Typhoon and the Bohol earthquake. It can be recalled that the people were dissatisfied with the slow government response in terms of bringing in the relief goods to the victims that resulted to looting in Tacloban out of hunger and desperation..

However, based upon the tweets by Dennis Cabral Datu of ABS-CBN in Twitter, it appears old habits die hard.

Datu tweeted, “The relief goods are coming in via the C-130 plane but as far as distributing the relief goods, it’s a no-go yet. Pnoy will arrive tomorrow. ”

In another tweet from the ABS-CBN reporter, this one is the most heart-breaking. Please read below:

Datu of ABS-CBN tweeted regarding the group of Agta’s that came down the mountain to ask for relief goods and wrote, “The Agta’s walked for 3 hours to ask for food from the local government of Casiguran Aurora but received nothing.”

Dennis Cabral Datu of ABS-CBN managed to get a short word from the Agta woman and posted the video in Instagram. You may watch it below.

This is what Linda Tomay of the Agta tribe from Casiguran, Aurora said after failing to get the relief goods from the local government, “We will die of hunger Sir, since we’ve been eating sweet potatoes and bananas for days and nothing else!”

After the screenshot of the tweet of Datu was posted on Facebook, the netizens response to the indifference of the people in-charge of relief distribution was expected:

Anong klaseng pamumuno yan!

What is your take on this? Are you satisfied with the government response as far as the Typhoon Lando aftermath?
