Look: CHR is keen on investigating the deaths of the Laguna PNB branch robbery suspects

The Commission on Human Rights is seriously looking at the fatal shooting of the Laguna PNB Branch robbery suspect by the pursuing caught on CCTV.

According to Atty. Jacqueline Ann de Guia, Director of CHR Calabarzon, the CHR is keen on investigating the circumstances of the deaths of the robbery suspects in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Based on what I watched, I see very serious reason for the conduct of an investigation. I wouldn’t want to conclude whether there was an overkill or not. But it is a serious allegation that we will look into.

PO3 Cyril Gomez, the cop involved in the shootout incident caught on CCTV is told by his superior not to report for duty momentarily as of this writing.

S/Supt. Ronnie Montejo, Provincial Director of the Laguna Police Provincial Office run to the defense of the cop involved in the viral CCTV video which attracted the interest of the Commission on Human Rights.

Kung ang isang taon ayun po sa ating batas, kung in-danger na ho ang life lalo na binaril sya nauna, so superior stength na po yun binaril na sya, so self-defense po talaga.

Meanwhile, the autopsy result of the still unidentified dead suspects has yet to be released.

However, the police has already identified the owners of the gun and the owner of the getaway vehicle used by the robbery suspects recovered from the crime scene.

In the meantime, the police refuses to release the identity of the owner/s of the firearms and the getaway vehicle.

Appropriate charges were already filed by the Laguna Police against the two arrested suspects and the three others who remain-at-large.

According to Ernie Manio of TV Patrol, the two dead suspects in the morgue remained unclaimed by their respective families.
