Irked by the refusal of the road rage killer to surrender to the authorities, Mayor Estrada decided to put up a reward for the head of fugitive Vhon Tanto.
In a statement issued to the press on Thursday, Mayor Estrada said, “I’m giving P100,000 for any information that could lead to the arrest of (Vhon Martin) Tanto.”
Nevertheless, Mayor Estrada wants the fugitive Vhon Tanto to surrender alive. Otherwise, Estrada warned him of the dire consequences.
Delikado siya ‘pag nahuli siya… ‘pag lumaban siya, siguradong six feet under the ground siya.
Of course, I’m appealing to him to surrender. But once he’s caught, he will be put behind bars, automatic, until he is sentenced… to death.
Previously, the MPD launched a massive manhunt to apprehend road rage killer Vhon Tanto after the police positively identified the latter as the owner of the Hyundai Eon with conduction sticker M03745.
The crime was captured by CCTV cameras posted along P. Casal Street in Quiapo Manila, which showed Tanto, the Hyundai Eon driver, and Garalde having a brief scuffle before the deadly shooting.
Shot 5 times at point blank range, including in the face, Garalde succumbed to his wounds on the spot. A female bystander was also hit by a wayward bullet, landing her in the ICU in a nearby hospital.
Based on the testimony of witnesses, police said the argument between Tanto and Garalde started after the suspect’s Hyundai Eon hit the bicycle rider along the same street.
The announcement of the 100K peso reward from Mayor Estrada has been well-received by netizens.
In fact, netizens sympathetic to the victim and his family find more reason to share the announcement on social media.
