Missing alleged human rights activist surfaces in military camp in Quezon to surrender, confesses she was NPA Political Guide in Southern Tagalog

The leftist organization Karapatan-Quezon reported on its Facebook page on 15 September 2019 that Alexa Pacalda, allegedly a human rights activist, has gone missing and read:

Missing activist, Alexandrea Pacalda is now in custody of Gen. Luna police station. Her family, friends and colleagues call for her immediate release.

Today, 16 September 2019, Karapatan-Quezon sang a different tune, this time asking for the release of Pacalda, whom they said was forcibly arrested by members of the military and brought to a military camp in Barangay San Miguel Dao, Lopez, Quezon.

Well, that the narrative of the leftist organizations.

However, as far as the signed affidavit of Alexa Pacalda is concerned, the human rights activist “kuno” as claimed by Karapatan, admitted being a member of the New People’s Army at the time of surrender, holding the position of the Political Guide of Platoon SOL Guerilla Unit 2, Sub-regional Military Area 4B of Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC).

But thanks to the FB page Hayagan NA for alerting the public of the “lies” peddled on social media by the leftist groups re circumstances surrounding re Alexa Pacalda.

Check out the original post of Hayagan NA posted earlier today.

Alexandrea Pardilla Pacalda alyas @Cossette @ Cris,_24 years old, single and resident of Purok Talabis, Brgy. Ibabang lyam, Lucena, City further certified that she is a member of Platoon SOL and holding a position of Political Guide of Platoon SOL Guerilla Unit 2, Sub-regional Military Area 4B of Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC) .

The story was confirmed by the website Hukbo.com on its article published on 16 September 2019.

Lt. Col. Arnold L Gasalatan, Commanding Officer of 85IB identified the surrendered rebel as Alexandria Padilla Pacalda alias Cosette/Cris, 24 years old, a member of Platoon Sol, Sub- Regional Military Area (SRMA) 4B, Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC). She also surrendered one (1) Smith and Wesson Revolver (SN 7288) with six (6) live ammunition and other war materiel.

Pacalda was a student of Enverga University in Lucena City. She was an active member of Gabriela Youth and College Editor’s Guild of the Philippines before joining the NPA. According to her father, Arnulfo Pacalda, she graduated with a degree in Mass Communication but has no knowledge of her whereabouts until her surrender to the authorities.

“There is no abduction here. We understand that she has been fed with stories of torture if she goes to the military or the police that is why we immediately sought for her immediate relatives upon learning of her surrender because we want her to feel safe,” LTC Gasatalan added. #SupportOurTroops
