The Manila Bay White Sands Project has been met with harsh criticism from the Opposition and stirred heated debates on social media between the pro and antis.
On her weekly radio program BISErbisyongLENI, VP Leni Robredo called the government “very insensitive” for doing the Manila Bay beautification project while the country is facing a pandemic and many Filipinos are going hungry.
Ang daming naghihirap, gagawin mo iyong pag-beautify.‘ [Link here]
That’s Leni’s opinion and many of her supporters but if you listen to the pro-Duterte supporters like former La Salle History professor Van Ybiernas, that like of thinking of thinking is simply stupid or dumb.
On Facebook, Ybiernas wrote:
Ybiernas remarked that based on their remarks that the budget of DENR should have been used in the government’s effort in dealing with the pandemic is proof that they really idolized the DAP strategy of the previous admin.
Ybiernas reminded critics that the budget for the Manila Bay White Sands project was approved by Congress and the President under the GAA.
Batas yan!’
Ybiernas insisted DENR cannot just say that since the country is facing a pandemic, they will not spend the money specifically allocated by Congress and ignore the law.
Ybiernas ended the FB post by showering critics of the Manila Bay White Sands project with expletive.
‘Namputsang mga bobong nagkalat sa mundo!’
