Once again, the opposition is threatening to oust PRRD from Malacanang via impeachment for allegedly failing to protect the interest of the Filipinos in the West Philippine Sea issue.
We all already know that the impeachment the opposition’s cooking is doomed from the get-go because of the political realities on the ground, like PRRD’s 80%+ approval rating and total control of both houses of Congress.
But kudos to the opposition camp for still trying despite knowing the odds are heavily stack up against them.
Netizen Dan Jiminez, perhaps out of concern, whether it was authentic or fake it doesn’t matter, decided to play the role as the bearer of bad news to LP and their supporters on Facebook.
Jimenez, in a emphatic tone, told LP that whatever their plan to return to power won’t prosper because the odds does not favor them.
Jimenez remarked that an LP comeback is not happening, “not with the people who have been victimized by the yellow cult, debased and exploited by Kamag-anak Inc., suffered under Yolanda’s wrath but even more injured and damaged by Abnoy’s and Roxas’ patronage politics. Not with the memory of the murdered SAF 44.”
If that was not enough to dissuade the opposition from stopping whatever their evil plans vs Duterte, Jimenez said the political dynamics in the country has completely changed. It is not for politicians anymore. It is “for the people, by the people and of the people”. Let the lesson be learned and be inculcated in every Filipino’s brain. It took Duterte to unleash the nation’s dreams, the people’s long sleeping trust in themselves, the attitude that yes, it can be done! Never will the people be caged again!

Twisted Truths #6: Impeaching Duterte
There is always a reason to what people do. But there are more reasons to madness. Add despairing politicians to the mix and unreasonable reasons will overwhelm. Sometimes, insanity becomes the scoundrels’ last resort.
Carpio and Del Rosario tried to push their way to Hongkong to shame the Duterte government to do something. All it exposed were the limited knowledge of the once power wielders, their uber entitled mentality and Robredo’s unending show of utter stupidity. Still they claimed Duterte’s impeachable offense of not standing up for Filipino citizens but all they got was the cancellation of past government officials’ diplomatic passports. How about that for an up-yours?
Still they persevere with the maritime collision between a Filipino fishing boat and a Chinese vessel as the new impetus. Now they are drawing parallels with Carpio’s and Del Rosario’s caper saying Duterte is not defending the Filipino fishermen but championing China instead. A very impeachable offense.
Add Duterte’s comment about letting Chinese fishermen fish in Philippines’ Exclusive Economic Zone and the dizzying clamor spins out of control with the political opposition, pundits, instant experts and even the wife of the boat captain saying Duterte must be impeached. Above these noises and incoherent voices, a sobering question: Do they know what an impeachment is?
It is a political exercise based on numbers. So long as the president has more than enough supporters, impeachment is an exercise in futility. An unnecessary cost for nothing that the people can not afford. Why then the accusations, the insistent repetitive claims of Duterte’s violation of the Constitution? Because time is running out for those Duterte’s election displaced.
The past three years were unparalleled in the President’s approval rating. With Filipinos improving situation, the next president will not be from the opposition but who Duterte anoints. The total brutal loss of Otso Diretso can not be ignored. The oligarchs and the traditional politicians will be extinct. Their only chance is to get rid of Duterte now, before the next election. 2022 is too late. So they gather steam for impeachment even if such will amount to nothing. Theirs is a hope that such will influence an angry noisy crowd to gather in EDSA. And that they will be backed by the clergy, the cause oriented groups, by foreign governments and most importantly, by the military and the police. It was done before, they can do it again.
Not under Duterte. Not with an approval rating of 80% or better. Not with the like of Robredo waiting in the wings. Not with the awake citizenry who put Duterte in Malacanang. Not with the people who have been victimized by the yellow cult, debased and exploited by Kamag-anak Inc., suffered under Yolanda’s wrath but even more injured and damaged by Abnoy’s and Roxas’ patronage politics. Not with the memory of the murdered SAF 44.
Power sometimes makes sane men mad. Desire for power, the desperation to posses such make evil of good men, make the ambitious stake all and ultimately lose all.
Governance has changed.
Impeachment be damned!
