VP Leni Robredo premiered a “new look” during her own version of national address – raising the eyebrows of critics and drawing praises from her legion of supporters.
A certain netizen named Joe Smith Medina has taken to Facebook to scrutinize every detail of Leni Robredo’s “new look” with the noble intention of orienting netizens why the VP camp pull off such stunt.
Medina opened the FB post by acknowledging that Vivian Velez was spot on when she called Leni Robredo’s new look the “worst political branding.”
‘Tama sinabi ni Vivian Velez sapul na sapul, magaling branding ni Leni now, PR strategist yan Leni. Salamin, ang pens ayos na ayos tapos may libro pa, at naka focus ang Philippine Constitutional Law book…. Tawag dyan Branding Style.’
Medina went on to explain the purpose of each props or items used by Leni’s PR team to project the image they want the VP to appear to the public.
‘Salamin para looking smart, may mga pens para kunwari working to the max and may books at naka focus ang Constitution para Rule of Law ang branding at nagcoconsult lagi sa book ni Isagani Cruz or Fr. Bernas na Political Law… hahahaaha’
Medina remarked that such concept is alien to ordinary Filipinos but for those who have taken up these courses – this is what they call branding. The PR team also brainstormed how to counteract every move of the President.
‘This is not common among Filipinos (pero orient ko na din) , but for those who have studied Communication Arts , Marketing or may exposure sa pag handle ng public personality– may Branding. Brainstorming din during stage how to counteract ang mga ginagawa ni Presidente.’
Medina aptly compared politics to show business wherein only a few politicians are sincere.
‘Ang politika ay parang showbusiness iilan lang ang alam ko na sincere na politiko. Siguro if exposed ka na sa politika, hindi ka na mauuto ng mga ganitong style.’
Medina praised Leni’s PR team for doing a great job in packaging the VP. However, he was confident that their client will unravel during the “Question and Answer” portion.
‘Pero infairness magaling naman talaga ang PR nya, good speech writers, good stylists, good workshops for facial expressions… Pero pag Question and Answer na , dyan tayo lagot 😃😃😃’
Medina bragged that if he was part of Leni’s PR team, he would fix her eyes and make it look like Nora Aunor. In addition, he would also improve her delivery of the speech.
‘If ako sinama sa PR team nya, dapat ayusin din ung mata nya masyadong matapang dapat mukhang mata ni Nora Aunor nakakaawa and tono ng boses nya sa speech need more rehease , hindi tugma ang emosyon sa mensahe.’
Medina offered his unsolicited advice to the VP – discard the “new look” and just get real.
‘Magtigil na Leni, magpakatotoo na lang tayo…
Salamat kay Vivian Velez , very observant and sharp ang eyes.’
Medina ended the FB post by saying that no matter how hard Leni’s PR team tries to make her look smart, PR can only do so much to rebrand her brain.
‘Before I sleep— To Leni Robredo, your PR can dress you well, write your speeches, speak flowery words , wear eyeglasses to look smart but it doesn’t mean PR can rebrand your brain!!!!’
