A post warning the Bishops not to start a coup against the President-elect, otherwise, a counter-coup against the church has been making the rounds online.

In a Facebook post published recently by a Catholic Duterte supporter named Jannah Galendez, the netizen issued the threat in light of the noise online about a coup to unseat President-elect Duterte even before he could assume his presidential position.
It can be recalled that the successful uprisings in the country had the blessings of the Catholic Church. For example, the EDSA People Power 1 was spearheaded by Cardinal Sin. Likewise, the EDSA People Power 2 that ousted former President Estrada had the backings of the powerful Catholic church.

We are a roman catholic but if ever time will come mga father na mag kudeta kayo , kami mismo mga aguinaldo ni president duterte ang makakalaban nyo, pinaghihirapan namin syang dalhin sa malacanang peru mag kudeta kudeta lang kayo? Our family is very religious since my grand grand father but if si duterte na pag uusapan natin, para sa kabutihan ng lahat ng mga filipino , ABAAA dito tayo magkakalaban, we will take our rights as a filipino to defend our beloved elected president for the betterment of every filipino for patriotism…
We are willing to take a bullet from him.. If its not in your vested personal interest then BACK OFF!!!
Use your time of helping this nation/country to make a better place to live for every pilipino, andami pa nating gagawin to help the people who is in need, the ( ofw’s whom they are molested and physical hurt by their employeer, rape victims, un-employment, better education, corruption, illegal drugs and etc… Please dont be blinded by what is happening in our society/country , be a PRIEST for all the filipinos and to our country, and not by your own EGO and personal preferation, be a soldier of truth and not to obliarch.

i just read news article about born again christian pastors abusing children,as well that have not been published widely in the media ,including the famous anti catholic preacher ,tony leyva.he abused dozens of young boys ,before he was imprisoned ,then died.in my area a very famous married evangelical minister died of cardiac arrest ,whilst having sex with his secretary .people learned the story from ex members,as media was afraid of people in his ministry .in my area as well,a pentecostal pastor was charged of sexually abusing a nine year old girl.the parents ,who were members of his congregation complained ,but the members sided with their pastor .according to study financed by a jewish businessman and was researched by united methodist church in the early 2000s,there were more protestant ministers who abused children than catholic priests.the western media was just biased with the latter,as always.

Who started the conflict?
CBCP / INC and other religious group should not endorse/support any candidate/politicians and should refrain from advising it’s followers (people) on who or how they should vote, or influence voter’s decision, thinking and way of voting.
Church’s or Religion group claim that it’s advice is not partisan is false, irrelevant as well as unconvincing. There is no such thing as objective or neutral political advice.
Religions can cause divisiveness and since Philippines as diverse nation, no one religion should speak or decide for the others and follower should avoid saying their our religion is better than others.
The State must focus on saving lives. The Church should focus on saving souls.
As the predominant religion in Philippines – Catholic Church is obviously very powerful, rich, influential and actively meddle in our goverment & Philippine Politics.

INC only vote due to its rights as voters we don’t meddle into politics, after we cast our vote thats it. Our vote is based on our solidarity doctrine which is more of spiritual than political. We are a minority religion and base on history candidates that INC votes doesn’t always win. You won’t hear us comment or give opinions regarding how the government is run. In cases where INC gets appointed in government this is out of the church jurisdiction already for this is already their personal time.

We have long been patient and humane avoiding death penalty…See what happened ? Complete destruction of society…Crimes so rampant..;.beyond imagination! It would be best for the church to allow the new era to rule the most appropriate way under the new administration who is courageous to effect reforms. Courageous Leadership is what this country needs!

I am a Roman Catholic since I see the light in earth that’s why I respect the church. As history repeats itself in times of Jesus Christ he died in the cross through the order if Pontius Pilate who was the governor that time by the false accusation of Caipas head of the priest.. The innocent Jesus Christ died to comply his duty to save the world and Duterte willing to save the country against evils. Instead the church should do their duty to save the souls and not to fight the government.. Why didn’t fight with corruption, the drugs, criminalities and other problems faces with nation right now? Or clean the image of the church whom messed by corrupt and sinful priest not all but there are most out their using the church and their vocation. Please understand Duterte statement ” I prefer to go to hell rather than see my people in Paradise “. As a priest pray for him do that he will it be in hell because his intentions are for the better of our nation.

A catholic friend of mine said he is voting Duterte not because he likes him but because he believes Duterte can deliver the Agenda well for most Filipinos. I think a lot of catholics are thinking like this.

Obviously, this Janna Galendez does not know what she is reacting to. She does not have an idea of what priests are expected to do in the face of an openly bulgar, foul mouth, no respect for human rights and human life-politician that our fellow Filipinos elected. The beloved president can be a decent and just president; He just chooses not to be one. This is where our guardians of morals come in. People think it is funny but sadly it is embarrassing really. Janna should first know what is coup d’etat and who is capable of staging one and should talk to a priest before she writes an open letter that make her look …… “uninformed”, to put it nicely. (I want to use another adjective but because I have self discipline and and trying my best to be a decent human being, I will refrain. I also refrain from going down that road because of what our church teaches, be charitable.
Its sad that because of Duterte we catholic are divided, but before you say foul word to our church, think what Duterte have said against the instituton who have build our spiritual needs. Im not saying that our institution are perfect because they are also human, but no matter how imperfect, catholic religion have many foundations that elevate poverty and help helpless people from their situation… can you share other religion who have schools for the poor, house for the old without family, who cradle unwanted teen age pregnancy program?
If we do not defend our faith against Dutertes foul mouth, then you are not really a Catholic but someone who said his catholic just to have an identity. Catholic teaching teach us to became more human, and the way of God, unlike other religion who only attack other religion just to gain followers…
