Open Letter of KA SHANE to LIZA SOBERANO, ANGEL LOCSIN, SARAH ELAGO, and GABRIELA

An open letter written by a certain Ka Shane, a female NPA returnee from Leyte addressed to Kapamilya stars, Kabataan Partylist Sarah Elago and Gabriela circulates online.

The letter opened with Ka Shane giving a short introduction to netizens about herself and the reason how she was recruited by the NPA in Leyte.

BTW, the letter was written originally in Cebuano, the dialect spoken by people from western and southern part of Leyte province and all the way to the province of Southern Leyte.

In addition, Ka Shane mentioned she was told by her parents, his father was also a former NPA, that the NPAs are nice people and the offer to send her to school proved irresistible.

A few months later, she was fetched from home and stopped attending elementary school in (Brgy) Utanan. Ka Shane said she was still in Grade 2 when she stopped her schooling, thinking she going to attend ALS.

Ka Shane recalled she was brought to the NPA camp and left wondering since she was promised to study ALS. Instead, they went to the mountain. She was initially tasked to work as a medical worker.

Ka Shane, with a tinge of sadness in her voice, recounted that she spent a year working as a medical worker in the mountain and the plan to study ALS was shelved altogether.

That same year, the NPA commander, whom she looked up to as her grandfather r@p*d her. She recalled how she was abused and experienced great hardships in the mountain. She said that was also the time she learned how to lie because NPAs think only about their personal interest and the NPAs took no pity at their fellow NPA cadres.

Ka Shane expressed gratitude towards the soldiers who help her to start a new life in the absence of her parents, filled in the role of her parents.

At this point, Ka Shane appealed to Gabriela, to make good of their pro-women advocacy, extend legal assistance because she’s filing a case against the NPA commander who abused her, denounced CPP/NPA/NDF, tell the youths and women not to support the CPP/NPA/NDF.

telling the women’s group to show the youths, the women that they will help heartily. Shane reckoned that since Gabriela’s advocacy is they are anti-abuse of women, she asked wondered Gabriela supports the CPP/NPA/NDF? If they are willing to help, she asked them to assist her in the case she planning to file against her Commander and use their influence to dissuade the the youths and women from supporting the CPP/NPA/NDF.

Ka Shane hoped that her letter, intellect and knowledge will not be used for the good of the NPA, but rather for parents who lost their child among others.

Ka Shane thanked in advance netizens who gave their time to read her letter at for paying attention to her pleas for help.

Muli Maraming Salamat!”
