Photo of Chinese tourists forced to eat at the parking lot of a popular local fast food chain in Cebu left thousands of netizens in tears

The photo below showing Chinese tourists eating their meal at the parking lot of a popular fast food chain in Balamban Cebu has left thousands of netizens in tears.

The photo was credited to certain Jacob Fernan and shared on Facebook by the FB page called Happening in Philippines, eliciting mixed reactions on social media, mostly sympathetic to the plight of the Chinese tourists.

As of this writing, the photo has gathered 9,370+ reactions (6,000+ of which hit the sad emoticon and 1,000+ hit the angry emoticon) and shared 7,400+ times.

Happening in Philippines wrote a two-paragraph caption to give netizens an idea what was happening in the photo.

According to the caption: The Chinese nationals walked in and ordered meals at Jollibee Balamban Cebu. However, when they were inside the fast food restaurant, one of the customers was overheard saying, “let us leave here because there is coronavirus.”

At Jollibee Balamban Chinese tourists nag order ng pagkain pero nung nasa loob na sila ng fast food bigla nalang may nagsalita na isang customer “labas na tayo dito kasi may coronavirus”.

The Chinese tourists were already seated at their table, eating their respective meals but decided to finish outside.

Nasa table na yung mga chinese pero hindi na nila tinapos yung pagkain at doon nalang sa labas ipinagpatuloy.

Jacob remarked that instead of behaving like this, Filipinos should contemplate and educate themselves about the epidemic. After all, the Chinese tourists are humans.

Instead, contemplate and know more about this epidemic. They’re still humans ✌️😢😢😢
