Post says VP Robredo, in trouble for soliciting or accepting of gifts

A post saying that VP Leni Robredo could be in trouble for soliciting or accepting gifts is making the rounds online.

The page ‘Showbiz Government’ has floated the idea that VP Leni Robredo could be held accountable under RA 6713 otherwise known as the Code of Ethics and Ethical Standards and wrote a caption mocking VP Robredo that reads:

PI: Leni Robredo, Leni, you’re a lawyer?? Did you pass the bar??

According to the website of the DILG, RA 6713 is an act establishing a code of conduct and ethical standards for public officials and employees, to uphold the time-honored principle of public office being a public trust, granting incentives and rewards for exemplary service, enumerating prohibited acts and transactions and providing penalties for violations thereof and for other purposes.

It can be recalled that the supporters of VP Robredo have started a campaign to raise money in anticipation of the legal battle looming over her head, thanks to the protest filed by losing VP candidate Marcos in the Presidential Electoral Tribunal.

Earlier, VP Robredo expressed that she is worried about the legal fees more than winning the electoral protest in PET.

Her legion of supporters took the cue and launched a ‘piso’ campaign that is quickly gaining ground, thanks to the social media.

Former Pnoy spokesman, Edwin Lacierda has expressed his support of the piso campaign on behalf of the beleaguered Robredo.

However, the page ‘Showbiz Government’ has other plan in mind and hell bent on raining on the parade of the Robredo camp.
