A post criticizing GMA’s Reel Time “Ang Biyuda” episode about widows of slain drug suspects is making the rounds online.
The page “Astig Pinas” laments that the “Ang Biyuda” episode shown on GMA News TV unfairly dramatizes the deaths of drug suspects and their widows while ignoring the plight of the widows of policemen and soldiers who died in the anti-illegal drugs operations.
According to “Astig Pinas”, TV shows like this is not helping at all but putting the police and soldiers in a bad light and creating a wedge between the public and the police and the government.
Painting the police as merciless butchers of the poor is just one of the few examples of the unfair treatment accorded by the mainstream media to our policemen and soldiers, the post said.

“Heto na naman po ang GMA sa kanilang reeltime episode na Ang Biyuda. Paano daw ang pamilya ng mga napatay sa laban kontra illegal na droga?
They dramatize the deaths of suspected criminals.
IS THIS GONNA BE THEIR LEGACY? NAMATAY SILA PARA SA WALA? Are they gonna let them paint the picture that all law enforcement officers who risked and gave their life in battle were fighting and killing the poor all along?
Marami po sigurong mga inosenteng namatay during the war on drugs, but wasn’t that happening already in the Philippines even before the war on drugs started? Why lead us to believe that the killings was caused by the war on drugs? Why picture our officers as merciless butchers sent that kills the poor?
PLEASE SHARE AND LET OTHERS KNOW OF THIS. LET’S ALL STAND FOR FAIR REPORTING. LET US HONOR THE LIVES OF THE OFFICERS WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR US AND OUR CHILDREN.”
Your thoughts, please!
