Demata captioned the photos in a mocking tone.

No mention though what religious denomination the priest belonged to.

However, one commenter inadvertently revealed the identity of the group when he defended the priests.

Kknen Cab Bits appeals for respect.

Nevertheless, the photo has been drawing negative remarks on social media.

Marlon Ganalon Ramos writes:

Rogel Alvaro asks the same question as Nehru:

Dexter Manongsong remarks that the people involved are using the sotana for their gain.

Meanwhile, netizen Deanne Narvaez De Lara gives the public a brief history regarding the religious group in the photo to put things into its proper perspective.

Lito Baterna says regardless of religion, this is not allowed in Philippine laws.

“With all due respect sa Religious group, however this is a desecration of the Philippine Flag. This is against Republic Act 8491 or Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines

Section 34 Article E. Prohibited Acts
‘To wear the flag in whole or in part as a costume or uniform.'”
