Howie Severino of GMA News met a road accident this morning on Aurora Blvd near Broadway while on a bike commute to work.
The news anchor of the GMA TV program News 2 Go sustained a wound on his foot that requires some stitches to close the open wound.
In his post Faceboo post, Mr. Howie Severino wrote, “Just got hit by jeep from behind during my bike commute on Aurora Blvd near Broadway about 30 min ago.”
The driver even had the gall to say that the journalist got in his way. “Driver said I got in his way, but was later very apologetic,” the post reads.
However, realizing the biker, he just bumped is a popular TV personality, the driver later became apologetic.
Tommy Reyes wrote: “Glad you are safe Howie. I wonder if he would still be apologetic if it was a construction worker biking himself to work.”
Another netizen named Pedro Ding T. Perez wrote: “Ingat lagi. I have a feeling , nagkamot Ng ulo Ang driver . ( the usual Filipino antic) Most motorists have no respect for bikers.”
Another netizen, Jemil Bautista reacted on our driver’s mentality and wrote: “Filipino drivers really don’t know the concept of #sharetheroad. Just because their driving bigger metal, they feel that they’re more entitled to use the road. Tsk. Ingat Sir H.”
