Separation angst: Heartbreaking farewell between OFW Dad, young daughter made millions cry in viral video

I hope one day in Duterte’s administration, Filipinos will no longer need to work abroad instead dito na mag trabaho sa sariling bansa natin.

The statement above summarizes the sentiment of Icar Yves Buchorno Perdido, an OFW from Davao, whose daughter was sobbing uncontrollably in a viral video.

The heartbreaking scene between the father and daughter was taken outside the departure area of the Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao City recently.

In the video, the 5-year old girl in pink refused let go of her daddy by clinging to his knees like a post while blubbering…

Don’t go Daddy! I want to go with you. I love Daddy! I want to kiss my Daddy.

The flustered mother grabbed her wailing daughter away from his husband, to separate the two but the little girl refused to budge.

To appease her, the father planted a kiss on her daughter’s check, hugged her while holding back his tears.

Sensing a small victory, the daughter demanded to kiss his Dad and said, “I want to kiss Daddy.”

To make his Dad feel at least some guilt, the daughter  told her Daddy he does not love her.

“You don’t love me!  Daddy does not love!”

Towards the end of the video, the little brother approached them and planted a kiss at his Daddy’s cheek while the crying little girl in pink dress told her Daddy to pity her.
“Malooy ka!” ( Pity me!)

The viral video has touched the hearts of netizens and has been shared more than 100,000 times and viewed more than 2 million views on Facebook and counting.

OFW LIFE: My 5-year old daughter’s love to her daddy!

Heartbreaking moment of my daughter and husband at Davao International Airport .Eto talaga ang nakakalungkot sa mga OFW parents pag bumabalik na sa ibang bansa. I hope one day in Duterte’s administration, Filipinos will no longer need to work abroad instead dito na mag trabaho sa sariling bansa natin.
