Like any normal human being, President Duterte can have a bad hair day.
During a Cabinet meeting recently in Malacanang, President Duterte had an outburst while he was briefed about the TRAIN law by his economic managers.
The story has it that during the meeting, Sec Pernia and Sec Sonny Dominguez were explaining parts of the TRAIN Law. And the President asked why it was that Tang and Milo had such a huge increase in price.
Someone explained to Duterte that Tang and Milo were more sugar than anything else.
The revelation, according to Badoy, caught the President by surprised.
Followed by disappointment. Angry that all along, he believed the TV commercial of Milo that goes like this, “I’m getting ready, getting ready. Oh boy what a day it’s gonna be” was true.
Anyway, read the full post below for details.
Short chika while waiting for my sundo.
This photo was taken during the last cabinet meeting.
This was the part where Sec Pernia was presenting and I took his seat which was 3 seats away from the President. Abang chuwariwap lang ako so andon ako sa pinakadulo LOL. Bleachers kung baga. Haha..
So anyway, Sec Pernia and Sec Sonny Dominguez were explaining parts of the TRAIN Law. And the President asked why it was that Tang and Milo had such a huge increase in price.
It was then explained to him by Sec Liling and Sec Alan that Tang and Milo were more sugar than anything else.
The President was flabbergasted. Like, “Really??? Junk food sila???” Galit na galit sha kasi akala nya health food. Nalinlang sha nung “I’m getting ready, getting ready. Oh boy what a day it’s gonna be!” LOL. (It’s a Milo ad –the last I remember so baka 80s pa yan. I don’t watch tv.)
Tapos sabi nya, “Eh yan ang dinadala na pasalubong pag may sakit! Yan ang iniinom ng mga bata!” LOLLLLLLL.
Then he went on and on.
It was real funny and so touching too on so many levels, to see his concern for us. Just like a dad. It was so real. Asar na asar sha talaga na junk ang pinapainom sa mga bata at may sakit—at lalo na sa mahihirap.
I could sense sadness too. Like he knows what a lot of us know—the poor get the shortest end of the bargain all the freakin’ time. That ignorance results in so much disempowerment and how it pervades every aspect of their lives—even what they feed their children.
So this President is on a warpath to take MILLIONS out of poverty. Which is why he keeps getting AMAZING things done— free higher education, feeding program, his poverty-alleviation program, Build, Build, Build. ETC.
There is no one in this government more seized with a sense of urgency than he is. And he will shake things up and take out as much rot as he can in his short stay in office.
I know this for real.
Which is why everyday I go to work, I am ready to support him in all ways and to do my part to the best of my abilities.
You too ok? We in government—no matter how clean, how sincere, how magaling– cannot do it on our own. Real power rests in the hands of the citizenry. We need for you to do your part too.
We need you to be in your best fighting form. So wag uminom ng Milo at Tang. Junk yon. May magagalit.
Yakap, you crazies. Have a great great day!
The brief chika from Doc Lorraine Badoy and PCOO official has touched the hearts of some netizens.
“Ahh.. i’m so touched by tayDigs reaction. ❤️❤️❤️ Milo was my comfort papak when my parents leave for work when i was a kid. Don’t add sugar na lang when you drink😁”
“there is no one really like PRRD who is so concern about the welfare of his people. Kaya i am so thankful that he is our president. May God protect and bless him with good health. Thanks too doc for being there informing us straight from the table. Mabuhay kayo!”
