As the LP president, Sen. Kiko Pangilianan is one of the most sought after politicians from the opposition to get a comment on political issues.
So when the controversy surrounding the appointment of Margaux “Mocha” Uson as Assistant Secretary to PCOO (Presidential Communications Operations Office) exploded, Sen. Pangilinan’s word on the issue was sought by the media, including the Philippine Star.
Pangilinan told the Philippine Star that in making appointments, the consideration should always be the competence, integrity and passion of the appointee. “All government offices are integral to the success or failure of government, as well as the Filipino people,” said Pangilinan, president of the Liberal Party.
When the Philippine Star wrote an article revolving around the Pangilinan statement on Mocha Uson’s appointment, note how headline is written.
Because of the Philippine Star headline, social media roasted Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.
Thinking Pinoy wrote on Facebook: “Psst, Sen. @KikoPangilinan – Cuneta, hindi gabinete ang Asec. Sabaw?”
Thinking Pinoy’s readers also joined the roasting.
Gago, magsama kayo nina Leni Robredo and Trillanes!
So say goodbye to PH! Habulin mo na lang asawa mo!”
Zhussane SueCarno said: “Bopol talaga!!
Efhraim Santiago has every reason to be thankful to the social media. “JUICE KO!!! BUTI NA LNG MAY SOCIAL MEDIA, NAKIKITA NA TULOY YUNG MGA BANO NA SENATOR.”
In fairness to Sen. Pangilinan, he did not explicitly said that Mocha is a Cabinet appointee, but rather he used the word appointee. What do you think?
Your thoughts, please!
