UP alumnus writes open letter to UP Board of Regents expressing strong objection re teaching position for former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV

While rumor has it that Trillanes’ teaching position at the UP Diliman is a done deal, an open letter written by a UP alumnus expressing one’s strong objection to it circulates online.

UP alumnus Benedict Exconde addressed the open letter to UP’s Board of Regents and officials telling them how he feels, as an alumni, of news report Trillanes has been offered a teaching position in one of the country’s premiere school.

Exconded said that hiring Trillanes at UP Diliman is a disservice and a disgrace for his alma mater because of Trillanes’ past as military rebel, who repeatedly tried to overthrow and undermine the authority of a legitimately elected government and openly disrespected the will the majority of Filipinos.

Exconde asked UP if they really want to lose respect of the masses by going down such sorry and stupid route?

Perhaps, the UP Board of Regents are contented of UP being called the symbol of obstructionist and opportunist force Trillanes represents?

🇵🇭AN OPEN LETTER TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS AND OFFICIALS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES, FROM A U.P ALUMNUS

👨‍🌾Dear University of the Philippines Board of Regents and other officials,

Please be informed that this early, I strongly object to the idea of employing Antonio Trillanes IV as a faculty member at our university.

It is a disservice and a disgrace for our alma mater to employ an individual who has repeatedly tried to overthrow and undermine the authority of a legitimately elected government, and openly disrespected the will of the majority of the Filipino people.

Do we really want to the masses to lose their respect towards UP by taking such a sorry and stupid route, or perhaps all of you are contented with seeing UP being the symbol of the same obstructionist and opportunist force that the said person now represents?
