According to Professor Jan Robert Go, the main reason why voters are leaning towards a cussing and brutally frank candidate like Mayor Duterte is simply because the people are tired of politicians who make BIG promises.

Prof. Go further offered his observation that in past elections, politicians running for the national or local positions did promise the same thing to the voters like alleviating poverty, a better life for all and rendering good services to the people.

He said, the people must have come to the realization that their lives are still the same or getting worse than ever before by voting the old faces in politics.

Duterte, the anti-establishment candidate

But here comes a candidate who says he will end criminality although ending criminality is not a certainty, and yet people are still willing to gamble on Duterte because they see the sincerity in him. People take this as something fresh and unheard of.

The host and Professor Go agreed on one thing: Duterte is not a hypocrite or “plastic” and he says what he wants to say even if some people will us we it against him and that endears him to the people.

Full Interview: http://bit.ly/21CRqJN
