If you are one of those overseas Filipino workers (OFW) or ‘balikbayans’ who lost an item or two from your luggage during one of your vacations in the Philippines and wondering who stole your stuffs, hopefully, this raw video should once and for all provides you a clue of the culprits.
The raw video that is making the rounds on Facebook shows two airport workers opening what appears to be a bag while the unloading of the passengers’ bags is in progress.
The airport workers managed to open the black bag without them knowing, their ‘thieving’ act is being captured on video. A short while later, guy number 1 walked away from the scene of the crime nonchalantly with his prize trophy on his head.
The video was taken by a woman flier who saw the crime in progress by accident. She was accompanied by a woman friend which can be heard talking with the video uploader in the background.
The identity of the two airport workers and the owner of the alleged pilfered bag are still unknown as of this writing.
Meanwhile, there is no statement yet from the airline company or from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport management regarding this matter. A statement from the NAIA or from the airline should remove any doubts of wrongdoing from the paranoid public.
B SIDE OF THE STORY
A netizen that goes by the handle Jay-Ar Moratalla Naga Nacional, who appeared to be an airport worker provided an explanation. He opened his comment by saying the social media is indeed ‘judgmental’ society.
He offered his theory that the ‘contentious’ bag may have contained the COMAT (Company Materials) which comes from the point of origin. The COMAT refers to CARGO DOCUMENTS that are not manifested as freight. When it is raining, the COMAT is stored in a bag to prevent it from getting wet.
Mga ma’am/sir baka yung binuksan po nila na gamit ay COMAT company materials na galing sa point of origin or out station ng airlines company; every arrival po kasi ng aircraft ay may COMAT yan of Cargo Docs na minsan nilalagay sa bag lalo na pag maulan para di mabasa.
