A video of Senator Bong Go exploding in anger after ABS-CBN allegation of early campaigning 3 months after he was sworn in as senator has been making the rounds on social media.
The typically shy Senator Go told local reporters of his intention to be given the chance not to respond to an issue but this time to be given the chance to question ABS-CBN.
Senator Go asked reporters to accompany him because he wants to ask this burning question from ABS-CBN.
(addressing the reporters) Nakikiusap ako sa inyo.
Kampaya pa rin ba ang ginagawa (not sure if I heard it right) ko?
A reporter interrupted Senator Go, prompting him to ask the reporter to hear him first.
At this time, he also expressed his desire to ask the question to all reporters, not just ABS-CBN.
Before the election, nung nag-iikot po ako, sinasabi nila nangangampanya, di po ba tapos na ang eleksyon? Pangangampanya ba ito nagbibigay ako ng tulong? (Before the election, when I traveled around the country, I was of campaigning.)
Now that election is over, Go has been accused of campaigning by ABS-CBN again.
Go asked the reporters and ABS-CBN if helping the people whom he promised during to the election campaign period that he will come back and help them considered campaigning?
Go reiterated his point to ABS-CBN that since the election is now over, do we still deny the people the help they need? Go wanted to know why the accusation of early campaigning when election is still three years away?
Go claimed that he was not keen on or aspiring for a higher position. He is only what is required of him as a senator: legislation, representation and constituency.
Di ko po matiis na nakaupo lang diyan sa Senado (pointing his finger towards the direction of the senate) habnang ang mga kababayan natin naghihintay ng tulong, nagmamakaawa humhingi ng tulong, nandito ako pera bigyan ng solusyon, na magpaabot ng tulong. ( I can’t bear just sitting there at the Senate while our fellow Filipinos waiting desperately for help. I am here willing to extend help.)
Go has this message to ABS-CBN and to the next President:
Go said that President Duterte’s 80% approval rating is testament to the people’s trust of the President who has nothing but their interest in his mind and to render public service.
Go remarked that just like the President, he has vested interest but to serve the public.
