Video: What happens when the law enforcers are the law breakers?

Police Car counter-flowing in a busy highway.

The police are supposedly the law enforcers and not the lawbreakers.

A motorist shared a video to Top Gear Philippines to demonstrate his point that if the law is not upheld by the law enforcers, it is prone to abuse by ordinary citizens. The video was taken today September 29, 2015 at around 3 PM.

The video shows a police car doing a counter-flow in a traffic prone area in Sauyo, Novaliches, along Quirino Highway. In this video, we can’t say that the policeman in the driver’s seat is totally at fault here.

For all we know, they are in a hurry responding to an emergency police operation. But under normal circumstances, this is not acceptable.

If you watch the video, you will notice what appears to be a civilian car right behind the police car. This is an ordinary scene in our motorways.

The video elicited different reactions from the netizens, but mostly against the police car and the officers on board the said vehicle. But only a few netizens bothered to pick on the civilian car tailgating the police vehicle.

In the video, only a single vehicle is taking advantage of the situation. But in other circumstances, this is not the case.

You may watch the video below to get a good appreciation of the concern of the netizen.

From Christian Villalon: "Hello, Top Gear. This video was taken earlier (September 29) at around 3pm in Sauyo, Novaliches, along Quirino Highway. We all know how the traffic goes in this area, but this police vehicle suddenly counter-flowed. I don't think there was any emergency–the vehicles on the opposite side were simply slow-moving. Look at how this police vehicle caused traffic."

Do you agree that the police should abide by the law at all times to avoide the impression that they are abusive and lawbreakers?
