Mayor Aldong Parojinog and his wife were killed after they chose to go out in a blaze of glory in the early dawn police raid conducted on July 30, 2017.
According to ABS-CBN News, the raiding police operatives were armed with 6 search warrants to the residences of known drug personalities in Ozamiz, namely Mayor Aldong Parojinog and daughter VM Nova Princess Parojinog.
Instead of a friendly welcome, the raiding police team met an inhospitable guests, resulting in a gun fight to the death.
When the smoke of the gun battle cleared, the lifeless bodies of Mayor Parojinog and his first lady Susan were discovered inside the Parojinog house. 11 others including 4 barangay tanods who accompanied the raiding team were also killed.
VM Nova Princess Parojinog was arrested by the raiding police team several firearms and illegal substance believed to be shabu were discovered by the raiding police.
The search on Mayor Parojinog’s house yielded M79 riffles, bundled cash and shabu.
The raid on the house of Mayor Parojinog’s son, Ardot Parojinog in Bagakay, Ozamiz yielded 1 Shotgun, 3 Rocket Propelled Grenade Launchers, 2 Hand grenades, 8 M79 bullets and an M79 riffle, shabu paraphernalia aluminum foils, sealers, lighter, and metamphetamine crystals. However, the councilor was away when the police arrived. 5 of his men were arrested.
The house of the other son of Mayor Parojinog named Dodo was also raided.
