#AbolishSenate: Netizens reaction to senate hearing because a General called them $tup!d?

Uh-oh! The senate is calling for a hearing because Gen. Parlade called them stupid?

The supporters of General Parlade, mostly Duterte supporters, are up in arms on Facebook upon hearing the news.

A netizen named Tio Moreno, a brave blogger from Mindanao, has started a hashtag #AbolishSenate in response to the kneejerk reaction of Drilon et. al.

In a Facebook post, Moreno laments that critics including lawmakers, politicians and their kind are free to call President Duterte all sorts of unflattering names in the name of freedom of speech. However, when a high ranking general calls SENATORS ___ because that best describes them, all hell breaks loose and they are calling for a senate hearing.

“SENATORS, congressmen, politicians, students, social media trolls, twitter alters, and ordinary citizens are free to call President Duterte a “murderer,” “fascist,” “dictator,” “maniac,” “rapist,” etc. in the name of FREEDOM OF SPEECH knowing that Duterte is the President of the country and holds the highest position, but when a high ranking general calls SENATORS “stupid” because that is the the best adjective that fits them, they went ballistic and called for a hearing.”

Moreno wrapped the very brief FB post dropping a hashtag that should send chills to the Senators.

“It’s really time to #AbolishSenate 💪🏽

#StupidSiSenDrilon

Let us read some of the comments below and see if they share the sentiment of Tio Moreno.

“Yes, we can do that. We can replace them all with new set of senators sa 2022…. All Stupid Senators deritso sa inidoro din,” says this netizen.

“Change our Senators in 2022. Let’s vote the new generations of personalities. Flashed out the trapo. Exempted daw sila.¬†🤔🤭🤮🤣 echoes another netizen.

“Sayang ang pasweldo sa Senado at sangkatutak na researcher Nila !! Defund rin ang Senado at ibili ng bakuna at sweldo ng mga frontline nlng!!” says another.

#stupidsidrilon¬†matulog na lang siya. Halatang Pino protektahan ang mga NPA,” this netizen chimes in.
