On Monday, former President Fidel V. Ramos told GMA News that he resigned as special envoy to China after Duterte concluded his visit to Beijing.
A day after the FVR announcement, President Duterte confirmed he had received the FVR resignation while talking to reporters when the President visited his parent’s grave.
I’d like to thank him for helping me and be of service to his nation.
The President the issued the statement during the ambush interview with reporters.
Meanwhile, not all Duterte supporters are happy with the FVR resignation.
Actress Vivian Velez, for example, has a different take why FVR resigned and expressed her opinion on Facebook.
In the post, the actress accused FVR of being a sour grape when his policy suggestions to Duterte remain unheeded.
The old man is a spent bullet, empty shell… just because he supported PRRD he thinks he can steer him around. A stupid move actually Mr. ExP, what a way to be remembered tsk tsk tsk…
Her Facebook supporters agreed with the actress by commenting on the thread.
Sands A Martinez says: Maybe because he sees himself as a puppeteer and because he can’t manipulate prrd, he is moving to unseat him. Dirty old man.
Luis Cuervo He is old and tired …forgiven! Just sit back and shut up sir.
Ria Baby Agoncillo ulyanin alis jan!!! panggulo ka lang 😬
😬
😬
Rodel Urmatan To be honest, the guy is a great comedian. 😂
Meanwhile, President Duterte credited FVR for his critical role in resolving the issue with China.
Ramos had “broken the ice” to help restore goodwill between the Philippines and China.

I agree with you Ms Velez
Hahaha!!!
Let’s forgive the old man Ms Vivian. After all, PRRD thanked him for his past efforts in helping him. I agree with you, though.
Didn’t he realized that he was given that position as a courtesy? President Duterte marches to his own band. The old men thinks that he is the puppeteer. Who is leading who, may I ask? He got his chance once upon a time , he did not solve anything. The country remains in a state of status quo! The old man needs to completely retire himself from politics. He is off his roxker
hmmm…Ms. Vivian’s comment makes sense really.yeah, a spent bullet, an empty shell. Maybe he is thinking he can have something for his own vested interest in motivating Mayor Duterte to run for President. is he a two-timer?hm..
The ex president FEDIL RAMOS has his valid reasons why he disagree with Duterte maybe it’s the billions of dollars he knew Duterte was borrowing. He don’t want to be a part of making Pilipinos the poorest of the poor because of wrong decisions a president can do. Ms Velez is rich she can afford to live anywhere if the economy goes wrong what about the other citizen that cannot afford it would be the repetition of a MARCOSES ERA People think it is your future that is sold to the tubes
Pastor Quiboloy has extended the biggest support to President Du30 during the election pero hinde siya nakikialam sa governance ng pangulo. Sana ganyan din ang gawin ni FVR. After all he already had a CHANCE to govern the country to his liking na wala namang magandang resulta. Du30 has proven to make a change in just 4 months in office. Please give him 100% trust. Ang claim ni FVR galing na siya doon samantalang papunta pa lang si DU30. Ang deprensya ang dinaanan ni FVR e yong dating maling daan samantalang bagong daan naman ang kay DU30 kaya tinawag na real change for the better for the country.
Hard to re- train an old pretending WASP that he is a Philippine eagle by birth..que lastima as old Spanish residents of Manila would say
InFidel is egocentric, hypocrite, and pretentious that he could hardly break ties with his US masters making him a puppet-watchdog……he resigned with disappointment, realising that he could hardly manipulate the righteous Pres. Duterte.
