Army General on Myles Albasin, UP grad captured in Negros: She and NPA comrades robbed a Brgy chairman before arrest

Looks like the UP Cebu MassCom grad Myles Albasin is not innocent at all as Anakbayan and her parents want the public to believe.

If you’d read the reports from local Facebook pages operating out of Negros, Myles Albasin is an active NPA member and got involved in a robbery incident with her comrades.

This is different from what Anakbayan and her mother Grace Albasin are telling the public, “Myles Albasin is not an NPA. She was there (Mabinay, Negros Oriental) for an immersion.”

Grace Albasin, Myles mom, is a journalist and former editor of Sunstar Cagayan de Oro.

Negros Daily Bulletin and Dumaguete Today reported that Ms. Albasin was involved in the February 16, 2018 robbery incident in Brgy. Panciao Manjuyod, Negros Oriental

According to the report, an undetermined number of armed men claiming to be members of the New People’s Army barged inside the barangay hall of Panciao while a council meeting was in progress.

The armed men reportedly threatened Barangay Chairman Gonzales, forced him out his house, ransacked the house and seized the Barangay Chairman’s shotgun and .357 cal pistol.

Before the armed men made their escape, they issued an ultimatum telling Barangay Chairman Gonzales to leave the place in 24 hours.

It was not explicitly stated in the report what will happen if Gonzales fails to follow the armed men’s words.

The same ultimatum was also issued to two other individuals namely, Andoy Balderas (chief tanod) and Anoy Catubig (former CAFGU) to also leave their residence.

Brigadier General Eliezer Losañes, commander of 303rd Brigade confirmed that Albasin was involve in the robbery incident on February 16, 2018.

The army general arrived with the conclusion after examining the documents recovered from Myles Albasin and company when they were caught on March 3, 2018 after a brief gun battle with soldiers in Barangay Luyang, Mabinay Negros Oriental.

“We thoroughly inspected the recovered documents and it confirms that Myles Albasin was with the group who initiated the robbery” he added.

Netizen Marlon Morada couldn’t help but laugh after reading the post, in light of the new information that surfaced against Myles Albansin on social media.

“hahaha…nadagdagan pa tuloy ang kaso nya samantalang ang mga Akbayan at pamilya sumisigaw ng fake arrest kuno at walang nangyaring engkuwentro sa pagitan nila at ng militar…sino kaya ang nagsasabi ng totoo? hahaha”

Meanwhile, netizen Tsuy Repel appeals to the public to vet the information they read before making a judgement. “accusation pa lang na wala pa basis.. Confirm first before judging.”
