“BECAUSE YOU ASKED! we won’t” — Netizen critic on request for ceasefire of hostilities while Manny Pacquiao trains for Spence fight

“BECAUSE YOU ASKED! we won’t”

This is the emphatic response of blogger 1dangkal ni JP to the request of Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez to critics of Manny Pacquiao to stop criticizing the boxer turned senator while he is deep in training for his upcoming fight against American boxer Errol Spence.

1dangkal remarked he was about to give Manny his peace but since Rep. Rufus Rodriguez brought it up, he had a changed of heart.

Basically, 1dangkal cited three reasons why he will not acquiesce to Rufus Rodriguez request but mainly, Manny and Koko did stop their tirade even when Manny was already in the US. So the critics of the senator is only reciprocating.

“Rufus Rodriguez asks us to stop criticizing Manny. We almost did. But because he brought it up…”here are the reasons/questions why we can’t:

1. When Manny left to train in the US, he himself continued his political tirade. If he did not stop, why should we?

2. Manny’s partner, Sen. Koko is organizing a September National Assembly of PDP- Laban. Titigil ba si Koko habang nag- eensayo muli si Pacquiao ng mga suntok?

3. Manny and Koko refuse to stop criticizing the duly elected officials of the party, cast questions about finances, fund grassroots movements- even as Rufus calls for a cease fire. BTW, is he a member of PDP Laban?

1dangkal went on to share the statement made by Rep. Rufus Rodriguez that literally broke the camel’s back.

“I am calling for a ceasefire on attacks against our boxing icon to allow him to focus single-mindedly on his training. He has to prepare well for his fight. There should be nothing to distract and bother him,” he said.

1dangkal ended the post telling Rufus that Manny is not a child who must be spared from some scolding for misbehavior because he has a school exam the following day.

“Rufus, Manny is not a baby. He is not a child na hindi papagalitan sa pagiging pasaway dahil may exam kinabukasan- kaya nagiging spoiled brat ang karamihan dahil sa pag- uugaling ganito.”

Here are some of the comments of netizens in reaction to Rufus Rodriguez request for a ceasefire.

“Who fired the first shot? MoneyPacker did. Then we’ll treat him with kid gloves just because he has to concentrate on making money via boxing? Huwag kami….” said one netizen.

“if prrd tell me to stop, I will stop, but if not, kahit pasko titirahn ko sya..” remarked a netizen.

“Freedom of expression man!…freedom of expression! We are in a democratic country!” declared another netizen.
