Breaking! Isnilon Hapilon and Omar Maute killed in early dawn military operation in Marawi

While students all over the country are in jubilant mood because of the suspension of classes, the public has other reason to cheer – the deaths of Isnilon Hapilon and Omar Maute.

According to reports from local media outlets, Isnilon Hapilon, the emir of South Asia, was killed together with Omar Maute by the intensified military attack in the small battle area in Marawi City.

CNN Philippines was one the local media outlets that announced Isnilon Hapilon’s death on Twitter.

Netizen Rick says Hapilon’s death is a huge blow to ISIS in the Philippines.

Foreign journalist Erin Cook also tweeted, describing Hapilon’s death as a major win for the AFP.

Netizen Adel Rolfarim Sr. expresses his reservation regarding the reported death of Isnilon Hapinlon. “Ilang ulit na itong napatay mamaya buhay na naman nag kape lang pala.”

Leopoldo Lacuarin Candog Sr. also doubts Isnilon Hapilon have been killed. “Kayo mg media kung, magpalabas kayo ng mg balita seguroduhin nyo o kompletohin na . Patay na ung mg leader ng mg rebelde. Alamnyo mg media iba dyan nagbabalita petsa lang ang totoo ang totoong nangyari hindi ninyo pinalabas agad kaya may bias media.”

Meanwhile, Ryan Polinar welcomes the news of Hapilon’s and Omar Maute’s deaths. “Kung totoo man yan napakagandang balita pero may malaking problems parin ang ating mga sundalo ang mga dilawang ISIS sinisira nila ang bansa natin buti pa nga si Hapilon at si Omar Maute Marawi lang sinisira nila”
