Ex-DLSU Prof to Manny Pacquiao: “You are not fit to be a leader, not of this country or of any province, city, town, barangay”

Former DLSU History professor Van Ybiernas just made a brazen indictment on Manny Pacquiao’s presidential ambition – he is not fit to be a leader, not of this country or of any province, city, town, barangay.

Ybiernas explained that Pacquiao’s lack of education is not an issue to him because education is overrated.

“Hindi ko pino-problema ang kakulangan ng edukasyon ni Manny Pacquiao. Overrated ang edukasyon, actually. Hahahaha.”

What said he puts premium on experience. What a person lacks in education, he can make it up with experience.

“Experience is often more important than education. So kahit kulang sa edukasyon si Manny, he can make up for it with his experience.”

Ybiernas also said that the influence of Pacquiao’s advisers over him is no big deal either. Everybody ought to listen to their advisers. What is the point of hiring advisers if Pacquiao won’t listen to his advisers?

“Hindi ko pino-problema ang lakas ng impluwensiya ng mga advisers nya sa kanya. I mean, everybody listens —ought to listen— to their advisers kasi why the hell do you have advisers if you won’t listen to them.”

On fears that the advisers are “bad people”? Ybiernas sounded dismissive, saying what is important is that advice is beneficial.

“What if ‘masamang tao’ yung adviser nya? Well, doesn’t matter as long as the advice is beneficial.”

“What if the advice is bad?” Ybiernas asked.

“Well, labeling an advice as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ is a terrible way of classifying advice. Vague yan masyado,” Ybiernas remarked.

Ybiernas argued that no advisers will willfully give a bad advice because if their principal goes down, they sink with them.

“Anyway, advisers will never willfully give their principal ‘bad’ advice kasi if the principal goes down, they go down with them.”

“So advisers giving ‘bad’ advice is overrated,” Ybiernas insisted.

At this juncture, Ybiernas bared what is his major issue with Pacquiao – he is too trapo. He believed Pacquiao is the product of his life’s experiences. He picked up trapo habits along the way and writing a letter to President Biden is just an example of trapo habit, which Ybiernas described ‘terrrible’ and ‘bad judgment’.

Pacquiao is the complete opposite of President Duterte, who did not resort to gimmicks when he ran in 2016 election. He was wise and confident in stuff he knows about but confident enough to recognize the good ideas of his rivals and say he will copy his rival’s ideas.

I also think na produkto yan ng experiences nya. Kaya siya nagkaganyan.

Kaya tuloy ang natutunan gawin ni Manny ay umepal/umeksena, mag-mamaru, magpabibo, etc.

Problema yan. Kasi anybody who aspires to be a leader at any level for any organization, dapat hindi ka trapong mahilig umepal, mag-mamaru, etc.

I loved Duterte dun sa candidates debate noong 2016 campaign. He was very confident talking about stuff he really knew about.

He was also wise and confident enough to recognize the good ideas of his rivals and say na kokopyahin nya yung ideya na yun.

Hindi nya kinailangan magpabibo noong kampanya.

Manny has a lot of learning to do. And I don’t mean a bachelor’s degree or even advanced education.

He needs to learn how to be a proper leader.

Yung pagpapabibo nya about writing Pedo in the US, that was just terrible.

Terrible! Hindi pinag-isipan. And please don’t blame Manny’s lack of formal education for it; hindi ito usapin ng degree sa eskwela kundi just the right sense.

Maraming mga magbobote, tricycle drivers, taho vendors, etc. na marunong lumugar, not in the sense of social or political hierarchy kundi just the good sense to understand whether something good for all concerned is going to result from the things you say and do.

Manny, you are not fit to be a leader, not of this country or of any province, city, town, barangay, etc. because you have such bad judgment.

Bad judgment!

Reaction?
