From the streets to women’s magazine? Kabataan Party-list Rep. Sarah Elago’s “pa-model” photo for a women’s lifestyle magazine draws flak on social media

When we hear the name Sarah Elago, the images that first comes to our mind is a pro-poor student activist-leader marching in the streets, or that of a Kabataan party-list representative wearing a Filipiniana gown while attending the President’s SONA.

However, the pro-poor image of Kabataan Party-list Representative Sarah Elago is about to be shattered after a concerned netizen shared a photo of her, together with fellow members of the Kabataan Party-list posing before the camera of a women’s lifestyle magazine circulates online.

Netizen Adrian Pascual was one of the firsts to share the photo grabbed straight from the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s

From the tone of his voice, Pascual had a fun time poking fun at Kabataan Party-list Rep. Sarah Elago and her fellow women activists.

LANGIS SA MUKHA NG KABATAAN (PARTYLIST), SAGOT SA KAHIRAPAN.🤣😈🤣 (Oil in the faces of our youths, the answer to poverty.)

Fashion-fashion habang yung mga na recruit nila nasa bundok, walang makain at hinahabol ng bala. 😠😠😠 (Fashion-conscious while their recruits in the mountains have no food and being chased by bullets.)

Pascual uses the hashtags below to describe Rep. Sarah Elago and company’s foray into the fashion industry from the streets.

The photo of Elago and company did not sit well among Pinoy Facebook netizens, especially the DDS, who take turns in bashing Elago via the comment section.

Netizen Ji Sidlak Badjao slammed Elago and company, calling them fashion-conscious terrorists.

Mga fashionistang terorista . Rebeldeng walang kwenta. Dati ang mga namumundok yung inagawan ng mga lupa at kung ano pang pang aapi ngayon aba bumabaha na sa mga unibersidad ang mga rebelde🤣

Reynaldo M. Juico could only asked if that is how they represent their party list?

And that is how they present their party-list? With those faces? #salot

Rosella Pracale called Sarah and company “stupid idiot students” and felt angry because their tuition was paid for by taxpayer’s money.

What an stupid idiot students😤sayang ang taxes namin sa pagpapaaral sa inyo.
