“Heto na yung kinakatakutan natin.” —Netizen on news report QC gov’t tested 4 individuals who attended Angel Locsin’s pantry drive

“Heto na yung kinakatakutan natin.”

This is the initial reaction of MJ Quiambao Reyes, a staunch pro-Duterte blogger on Twitter and Facebook to the news report that 4 individuals who attended the Kapamilya actress’ birthday pantry drive were tested for covid 19. Three are asymptomatic and one has been showing symptoms. [Link here]

In light of this development, Reyes raised 3 valid questions in her FB post:

“Who’ll take care of the contact tracing? Who’s shouldering the cost for testing? Will the (dis)organizers take responsibility and pay for related quarantine & medical expenses?”

At this juncture, Reyes took the opportunity to appeal to the people behind the community pantry drive to stop if they cannot manage well or enforce strict health protocols. Otherwise, they coordinate with the barangays for assistance. She took a jab at the organizers of the pantry drive, saying there is no need to join the bandwagon or the popularity contest.

“Please lang, tigilan na po yang mga community pantry kung di nyo kayang i-manage ng maayos at di nyo ma-enforce strictly ang health protocol. Makipag ugnayan na lang kayo sa mga bara-baranggay to determine kung sino sino talaga ang mga nangangailangan at i-diretso na sa kanila tulad ng ginagawa quietly ng marami sa atin. Hindi kailangang makiuso o makipag pasikatan.”

Reyes agreed that indeed many Filipinos have good intention at golden heart. She is not questioning them but pleaded that if they want to help, do it properly.

“Oo, marami sa inyo may mabubuting hangarin at may ginintuang puso. No question. Pero please, tumulong tayo ng tama. Tumulong ng maayos.”

Reyes ended the FB post with the final appeal to the public.

“Wag nating hintayin malagay pa tayo sa sitwasyon ngayon ng India bago pa matauhan.”

MJ Reyes’ FB post has elicited mixed reactions from netizens, mostly mad or making sarcastic remarks towards the actress.

“Si Mayor Joy na bahala diyan. Nakakahiya kasi kay Angel,” one netizen wrote.

“Dapat itigil na talaga yang mga community pantry na yan dahil yan ang magiging source ng another surge, I’m afraid that one day we’ll wake-up like India na,” suggested another.

This netizen commented that Angel should pay for expenses.

“Si angel locsin cya nag pasimuno ishoulder nya gastusin .. matitigas ulo nila ayaw sumunod sa gobyerno”.
