Yorme Isko Moreno blamed somebody for making a pronouncement that anyone unvaccinated is not allowed to venture out of their homes, not qualified to receive ayuda from the government which resulted in a chaotic scenes in various vaccination centers in the city of Manila yesterday. Yorme said that also further added to the confusion of his constituents wishing to get vaccinated.
On that note, US-based Bicolano accountant and blogger Edwin Jamora took to Facebook have his opinion heard that Yorme Isko Moreno’s blame game is wrong and if there is anyone to blame for the chaos in Manila’s vaccination drive, it was him.
“YOU’RE NOT A LEADER WHEN YOUR PEOPLE ARE RUNNING AROUND LIKE HEADLESS CHICKENS!” Jamora said in an emphatic tone.
According to Jamora, being granted authority (president or city mayor) via election does not automatically make one a leader. He went on to elaborate why he said so.
“Someone being granted authority, whether a country’s president or a city’s mayor, doesn’t make them a leader. What makes someone a leader is their desire to achieve goals, help others, and create something better than what already exists not confuse them and let them run around like headless chickens! Lintianang salbatana an!”
Netizens jumped into the comment section to share their sentiment on the issue.
“Ang pronouncement ni prrd is for the whole country.
Mismanagement talaga wala kayong schedule! Parang naging night market sa divisoria ang dating,” another netizen echoed Jamora’s sentiment that the chaotic Manila vaccination is the result of Isko’s mismanagement.
This netizen slammed the people spreading fake news but at the same time, did not exculpate Yorme from guilt.
“A good leader should also be a good manager such that he would have established a good and capable management team that can think and manage independently, and an efficiency system of dispensing public services to the extent that the city government can function with or without the mayor being around. If the city government is entirely depended on the mayor na de pukpok, that’s not leadership. That is called patronage. And if the leader is not capable, then his governance is called kakistocracy,” lectured a netizen.
