This is the opening salvo of retired broadcaster Jay Sonza in his latest Facebook post, perhaps to gauge how social media reacts to the just filed resolution calling for a probe for alleged violation of the state franchise of the Eddie Villanueva-owned station.
Sonza reminded netizens the nature of the business of Eddie Villanueva-owned TV station.
Sonza argued that as soon the Eddie Villanueva-owned TV station entered into an agreement with ABS-CBN, it has deviated from its original purpose, which is a religious religious facility of JIL.
Sonza asked if the agreement entered by Zoe broadcasting and the Kapamilya Network is the same as the agreement with AMCARRA Broadcasting?
Sonza informed netizens of the news regarding the reso filed in Congress calling for an investigation for alleged violation.
“Ngayon ay may naghain ng isang resolution calling for an investigation for alleged violation of state franchise of Zoe Broadcasting.”
Sonza ended the brief FB post by asking netizens if this probe is warranted. “Dapat nga ba?”
One netizen commented that this is the right thing to do. Besides, the broadcast frequency provided to them is owned by the people.“
Another netizen commented that if its making money, it should be taxed by the government. “Pag pinagkikitaan, Buwisan.
Another one said that GMA News TV used to be a blocktimer of Zoe Broadcasting. He asked if Zoe Broadcasting paid the right taxes from its earnings with that deal? “Until one or two years ago, Channel 11 was also blocked-timed by GMA for its GMA News TV. Nagbayad ba ng proper taxes ang Zoe network for its earning from that deals?”
