IT expert offers alternative yet controversial theory to “Daang Matuwid” in the ballot; Comelec says its normal

An innocent looking photo of the official ballot posted by an OFW has been the center of the latest online controversy is doing the rounds online.

Daang Matuwid in the ballot

In a Facebook post shared by Even Demata, a follower of his offered an alternative theory that fueled more fire to the speculation that the administration party is cooking up a devious plan to rig the May election result in favor of the administration bet, Mar Roxas.

But before we move forward, allow me to give you a backgrounder so that you will have an idea what the fuss is all about.

Here we go! The official ballot shared by the OFW from Singapore shows the “Daang Matuwid” slogan of the administration party. The netizens find this strange and accused the Comelec of favoritism.

Regal Oliva from Cebu wrote a sarcastic reaction to the issue.

Why are the words “Daang Matuwid” placed after the name of a presidentiable and a vice presidentiable? I did not know they are related, i.e. same middle names?

The netizen then posed a question addressed to the Comelec on the issue.

Is there a reason to this COMELEC? Since when have we ever addressed him as DILG Secretary or Senator Mar “Daang Matuwid” Roxas? I never remember calling her Congressman Leni “Daang Matuwid” Robredo. Or is this just a desperate reminder that we should skip names connected to a slogan that has frustrated us for the last six years?

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez offered an explanation to the “Daang Matuwid” controversy.

Meanwhile, a follower if Even Demata offered an alternative theory with regards to the mysterious “Daang Matuwid” found on the official ballot.

The IT expert explained that the “Daang Matuwid” could be a hidden code that the VCM will read as a vote for Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo even if the voter highlighted the name of his preferred candidate.

If this is proven to be true, the result of the election is a foregone conclusion even before the casting of the ballot starts on May 9.

This is not impossible if the source code is tampered by the people with vested interest to rig the election.
