Jan Writer’s brilliant analogy of Hidilyn Diaz’s relationship with Duterte gov’t to parent & child makes buzz online

A blogger who goes by the alias Jan Writer compared the relationship between Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz and the government as akin to a daughter and parent relationship in a Facebook post.

Jan Writer recalled Hidilyn complaining to the government. Despite that episode, the government still supported her and the rest they say is history.

“Nagreklamo si Hidilyn sa kanyang gobyerno. Pero sinuportahan pa rin s’ya nito kaya nakamit n’ya ang ginto.”

Jan Writer compared this to the parents love to one’s child. When times are tough, shortcomings is a given. But, no matter how mad the parents is to one’s child, he or she will not use it as reason not support the dream of the child.

“Parang pagmamahal ng magulang sa kanyang anak. Kapag gipit, hindi maiiwasang magkaroon ng mga pagkukulang. Kahit ano pa ang galit ng magulang sa kanyang anak, hindi n’ya ‘yun gagamiting dahilan para hindi na suportahan ang mga pangarap nito.”

Jan Writer can’t stress enough that misunderstanding in the family is just normal.

“Normal ang hindi pagkakaunawaan sa isang pamilya pero hindi ko na alam kung paano tatapusin ‘tong post basta pa-woke, bugoke, liberal, animal, dilaw, halimaw.”
