The hashtag #DuterteDuwag trended on Twitter recently after President Duterte back out from his debate with former SC Associate Justice Antonio Carpio.
Critics have a field day on Twitter mocking President Duterte.
Teddy Casino of Bayan Muna tweeted:
“This didn’t age well, no? #DuterteDuwag“
Another critic and Kris Aquino’s favorite blogger from the Opposition also taunted and mocked Roque’s appointment as PRRD’s proxy in debate with Carpio.

That being said, retired broadcaster Jay Sonza heckled critics for failing to solve the mystery called President Duterte.
“5 years and you still can’t get it. Digong says, answer first these nagging questions, then, let’s debate. You haven’t answered any yet and expect him to argue with you? Oplok. Amaw.”

Meanwhile on Facebook, Sonza slammed critics for insisting President Duterte faced former Justice Carpio in a debate when President Duterte was prevailed by his advisers to back out because of national security and foreign relations consideration.
Sonza remarked that if critics continue still don’t get it why a sitting President cannot go on a public debate on matters of national security and foreign relations which he said is complex and volatile, they are either of the two: dense or ignoramuses.
“if you still don’t get it why a sitting president cannot go on public debate on matters of national security and foreign relations (the South China Sea/ there is no such thing as West Philippine Sea in the international arena). The issues are so complex and volatile.”
“it’s either you are pretending to be stupid for a reason or you have so little a knowledge of state affairs, governance, conduct of foreign relations and economic policies or you are simply ignoramus.”
Sonza reckoned that in bilateral negotiations or even is signing of agreements, the chief executive merely witness the events while the Cabinet secretaries or ministers handle the delicate task of squeezing the best possible deal for the country.
“presidents are not even in the frontlines on bilateral negotiations. it is the cabinet secretaries or ministers that conduct such. even in the signing of agreements, the chief executive merely witness the events.”
Sonza ended the FB post with something to ponder on for Duterte’s critics.
“if you still cannot fathom this, then you can rejoice for all your ignorance and idiocy. You stupid fools!”
