Retired broadcaster Jay Sonza had his teeth-gnashing moment at Senator Ping Lacson for having the audacity to clap back at President Duterte after the public scolding in his latest FB post.
Sonza was apparently livid in light of Lacson’s retort to President Duterte’s public solcding of the senator and VP Leni Robredo that the President alone can decide on the country’s foreign relations under the 1987 Constitution.
“Ang yabang mo Ping to even tell the president to read the Constitution on the issue of VFA, reminding Mr. Duterte about the role of the Senate on treaties or international agreements.”
Sonza blasted Lacson, calling the senator from Cavite “tanga” or stupid. Sonza went on to explain why he called Lacson using such adjective.
“Ang tanga mo lang ano Mr. Lacson. First of, the Visiting Forces Agreement is a simple executive agreement entered into by and between the previous presidents of America and the Philippines.”
Sonza admitted while the Philippine senate voted to concur its entry, its US counterpart didn’t.
“While it is true that our Senate concurred its entry, the same instrument never saw the light of day in the Upper Chamber of the Capitol Hills to this very day.”
Sonza reckoned that Lacson thought he is smart by telling the lawyer President to read the 1987 Constitution.
“Tingin mo matalino ka at sinabihan mo ang abogadong presidente na may grade na 90% sa international law na magbasa ng 1987 Philippine Constitution.”
Sonza once again called Lacson “arrogant” for assuming he has the power to call the attention of the chief executive on matters exclusive to the Office of the President.
“Napakayabang mo Ping to even arrogate upon yourself the power to call the attention of the chief executive on matters which are exclusive to the Office of the President, the head of the executive branch of our government.”
Sonza reprimanded Lacson for barking orders at President Duterte like he was talking to an ignoramus.
“Kung makamando Kay Mr. Duterte, akala mo pinagsasabihan mo ang isang mangmang.”
Sonza ended his sermon by leaving Lacson some words of advice.
“Manalamin ka nga Ping at ng makakita ka ng isang bobo at kalahati na naka coat and tie.”
