Lacson believes Duterte could be the best president of the Philippines ever if he listens to his advice

He could very well be the best president we’ve ever had if he learns to discard some old habits of a mayor and develop some good traits of a national leader. [ GMA News]

This is the advice of Senator Panfilo Lacson to President Rodrigo Duterte on New Year’s eve, December 31, 2016.

“For a start, he can ‘Google’ how to become a real statesman,” the senator continued.

Lacson clarified that the advice is for the benefit of the President and the country.

The bottom line for me is, I want him to succeed because like him and most Filipinos, I also love my country.

Lacson said a proud Filipino nation respected by his peers from around the globe could be the best legacy that Duterte could leave for the next generation of Filipinos.

There may not be a better gift that my and the president’s generation can bequeath to the next generation than a proud Filipino nation worthy of respect from all the other countries in the world.

Lacson cited Singapore as a model Duterte should emulate minus the dictatorial rule.

Singapore, sans dictatorial rule, should serve as a good role model for him to follow.

Moreover, Lacson implored Duterte to become multi-dimensional, meaning, tackle other pressing national issues and let the cops do its thing against illegal drugs.

I believe it’s time for the President to become multi-dimensional, not later, but starting New Year’s Day. Anyway, the anti-drug war is being addressed with more than enough vigor by our law enforcement agencies.

Corruption in government is one area Lacson believes Duterte can succeed in stamping out, owing to his political will and determination to see things done.

Corruption in government is one area where he can really make a difference, owing to his political will and resoluteness in getting things done.

Lacson asserted, once corruption is eliminated, great things can happen to the country.

Once corruption is eradicated, many great things can happen to our country as a matter of course.
