Lawyer debunks narrative of Opposition Duterte admin did not extend financial help to Tokyo gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz

A Facebook post to debunk the narrative of some netizens, particularly the anti-Duterte, who are apparently trying their best to downplay the role of the Duterte administration in the historic 1st Olympic gold of the Philippines courtesy of Hidilyn Diaz has been making some noise online.

Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles of the Luminous remarked that the supporters of the Opposition camp has been making hanash regarding the government’s lack of support for Hidilyn Diaz’s Olympic training.

Fed up with them, she immediately went to action to neutralize the narrative peddled by the critics of the Duterte admin.

“Yung kabilang parlor panay ang hanashi na di daw sinuportahan si Hidilyn at kinailangan pang magmakaawa sa soc med.”

Basically, Atty. Trixie cited 5 reasons to debunk the “hanash” of the other parlor with matching screenshots of the article to prove her point.

First. Hindi sya na deny ng suporta. Humingi siya ng dagdag para sa mga bagong coach. Inariba ni Sen. Bong Go at nakakuha ng sponsor na nagbigay ng P2M.

Second. Binigyan din siya ng Sports Commission ng P4.5 M for her trainings in China.

Third. May funding siya for foreign competitions.

Fourth. Inayos ang gym ng RMSC.

Fifth. She gets about P33M for winning the gold from private sponsors and government.

As of this writing, Atty. Trixie’s post has generated 7,038 reactions, 560 comments and 975 shares in just 3 hours and still counting.

Let us read the comments below of netizens who shared Atty. Trixie’s sentiment.

“I’m really very thankful and appreciate all your relevant information and counter punches about anything and everything that the other side says about this administration… Cheers to you Atty. Trix!”

“Thank you Luminous by Trixie Cruz-Angeles & Ahmed Paglinawan Sa patuloy na boldyak Sa mga nag hanash kay Mayor Digong,” commented another.

Meanwhile, one netizen corrected Atty. Trixie that Hidilyn stands now to earn P50M. “Correction Madame. Not only 33M but more than 50M excluding the condo and the new car sponsored by pvt sectors.”

Another netizen found the critics funny because they pretend to show concern for Hidilyn and yet they did not extend financial support when sked for it. “Nakakatawa lang kasi they keep on telling na hndi cya sinuportahan ng government pero hindi rin nmn nila tinulungan si Hidilyn that time na she is asking for financial support. Hahahahaha.”

This netizen commented that the Opposition no longer surprise him. “Not surprised🙄. Hahanap at hahanap talaga ng masasabi mga yan. As if naman may mga naambag🙄🙄Baka nga di nila kilala si Hidilyn. Ngayon nagiging bff agad. Haaaay ano ba yan? I am sure hindi na ito pinapansin ni Presidente. Drama drama mga pucha🤔
